(Pat) Robertson Calls for Justices' Retirement
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson urged his nationwide audience Monday to pray for God to remove three justices from the Supreme Court so they could be replaced by conservatives.

"We ask for miracles in regard to the Supreme Court," Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "The 700 Club."

Robertson has launched a 21-day "prayer offensive" directed at the Supreme Court in the wake of its 6-3 June vote that decriminalized sodomy. Robertson said in a letter on the CBN Web site that the ruling "has opened the door to homosexual marriage, bigamy, legalized prostitution and even incest."

80. I don't even preten to know what's going on like you guys do.
I used to hate Al Haig because he worked for Reagan. He was one of the owners, insiders in Capital Cities buying out ABC which was painted bad by Davie Emory the KFJC radio guy in Bay Area. Plus their was more dirt... Then he said he was next inline line and completely in control of the White House.

But then I saw a movie about the Reagan being shot. (don't know the name. Richard Dreyfuss played Haig.) I liked the movie. If the movie is accurate, Haig is more of a hero than I had ever imagined.

I always thought Bush was behind the Reagan assassination. Even before I knew about Neil Bush and Hinckley.

'wishing them dead'. Sorta like those fire and brimstone preachers railing against abortion, putting up photos of medical staff and pro-choice marchers on the chruch bulletin board then acting all surprised when some sniper takes one of them out.

Any way for a US Marshal with some conjones to go after a warrant for ol Pat? The gall of the man is going center stage. He thinks he has his own little kingdom on earth. Somebody needs to take him down a peg of three.

47. Pelican Brief with a Bible Belt twist?
It seems that the answer to that is yes. Pelican Brief with a Bible Belt twist.

This reminds me of the time Jesse Helms said Clinton would be in physical danger if he visited North Carolina. No one calls out Republicans who threaten people. It's considered tough. A liberal who threatens someone in such a way is either called a traitor or an inmate.

8. Fellow Sinners, Pray with Me....
Dear God

We BESEECH thee to use your almighty powers to remove such anti-christ preachers like Pat Robertson. Robertson claims he KNOWS you, but we wonder how he can make these claims knowing that his bible seems to have about 2000 pages censored out leaving behind only Leviticus 18:22

We know, Almighty God, that Jesus was born to humble means and lived a life that in today's standards would not qualify for a Bush Tax Cut. We pray to you dear God that you either help Pat Robertson see the light or hopefully have him retired and replaced by someone who has actually read the bible and will not use the collection plate to pay for Diamond Mines in Liberia or Racehorses for the Kentucky Derby.

We pray in your name

Amen

40. I Just Did!!!
Here's the "prayer" I submitted:

I pray that Pat Robertson be sent to hell at the earliest possible moment for using the words of Jesus Christ to divide this country. Pat Robertson is no Christian - he is a charlatan and he and his entire organization deserves to be punished for what they have done.

And their response:

Your prayer request has been sent. We pray over each need that is presented to us.

Consider looking up the topic of your prayer need on our bible-based literature and teaching page.

May the Lord Jesus richly bless you.

17. He's pissed at Bush, too
What a week he's had: http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/breaking_news/6273906.htm

<snip>
Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson accused
President Bush of "undermining a Christian, Baptist president to
bring in Muslim rebels" by asking Liberian President Charles Taylor,
recently indicted for war crimes, to step down.

"How dare the president of the United States say to the duly
elected president of another country, 'You've got to step down,'"
Robertson said Monday on "The 700 Club," broadcast from his
Christian Broadcasting Network.

<unsnip>

Seems like the Rev is actually pissed that his $8M investment in gold is down the tubes. He's not getting his big payoff like the rest of Bush's campaign investors.

What a turd to ask unsuspecting people to pray for his enrichment.

After all, Pat's not going to wise up, ever. As they say, it's in his nature. His holy book says thou shalt not do this or that so he'll be damned, literally, if he does anything but try to turn his holy book into all-encompasing law.

Still, I can call Pat a hypocrite for many reasons, if only for his violations of the "no-shaving" and "wearing mixed-fibers" rules laid down in Leviticus.

53. Fun with Pat
Here are some more zingers from the good "reverend":

Pat on apartheid in South Africa:

"I think 'one man, one vote,' just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights."
--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 3/18/92

Pat on the Nazis:

"Many of those people involved with Adolph Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals--the two things seem to go together."
--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/21/93

"Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."
--Pat Robertson in a 1993 interview with Molly Ivins

Pat on Religious Tolerance:

"I've heard all this stuff about little Jewish kids being marred by having to say a prayer in Jesus' name. That's all you hear when you're with the liberals, the ACLU. `Well, think about a little Jewish child, you have no idea what went on in their mind.' But listen, we don't hear the liberals talking about what happened to Christian little children."
--Pat Robertson

"If anybody understood what Hindus really believe, there would be no doubt that they have no business administering government policies in a country that favors freedom and equality.... Can you imagine having the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini as defense minister, or Mahatma Gandhi as minister of health, education, and welfare? The Hindu and Buddhist idea of karma and the Muslim idea of kismet, or fate condemn the poor and the disabled to their suffering. ... It's the will of Allah. These beliefs are nothing but abject fatalism, and they would devastate the social gains this nation has made if they were ever put into practice."
--Pat Robertson's "The New World Order," page 219

"You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist."
--Pat Robertson, The 700 Club, January 14, 1991

54. Even the freepers were condemning this move of Marion's
They were basically saying what the rest of us have been saying about the not-so-reverend Robertson's line of crap, that he is a crook, that he is wrong to pray for someone's death and that God will get him for it.
It certainly sounds like he's calling for liberal justices to die. He never had a problem with calling for the killing of Khadafy. I wish people would stop sending him money.

little blot. There isn't a god willing to listen to Pat Robertson and we shouldn't listen to him either.

58. Let's pray that the IRS pulls Marion's Exempt status!
You know why Marion O. "Pat" Robertson got out of TV stations and sends his "Sieben Hundret Klub" up via sattelite?
Because by being only a content provider to cable companies and others, he's not constrained by the same FCC rules (what few remain) that O-T-A broadcasters are.

I'd like to see him go down in flames like Bob Tilton (the Farting Evangelist), Jimmy, and Jim n' Tammy...

<http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewCulture.asp?Page=%5C%5CCulture%5C%5Carchive%5C%5C200307%5C%5CCUL20030715b.html>

This critter would be right at home in the dark ages of Europe. The scary thing is, his cult has a wide following. <shaking head> I find it amusing that Pat quotes and gives praise to T. Jefferson. In my opinion, it was T. J. that most feared and abhorred any type of blurring of the line between church and state. But, like most in a position of influence, they cherry-pick to make their case and the ignorant say…Oh, okay.

63. To Pat Robertson from Jesus
Matthew 6
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

64. There's a letter on his website
Caution, only open if you have a strong stomach:

http://cbn.org/special/supremecourt/pledgetopray.asp

It clarifies that he's calling for them to retire.

One justice is 83 years old, another has cancer, and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?

But it's entirely plausible that he's inciting someone to act.

What an idiot.

75. The DNC should be taping ads right now showing Robertson doing
this republican bullshit. Jim Jeffords left the republican party in part because it had been taken over by moronic and evil people like Robertson and Tom DeLay. I think millions of moderate republicans would consider leaving the party if they saw this shit constantly on television. This is a great opportunity for the democratic party.

83. Robertson Revealed- quotes and links about '700for666'

"I think 'one man, one vote,' just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 3/18/92

Pat Robertson owns Internet company in Beijing

February 2001
TV evangelist Pat Robertson – host of the popular 700 Club and founder of the Christian Coalition – is a major investor in an Internet portal business in Red China.
Robertson reportedly invested $10 million in the Chinese venture. The television preacher’s heavy investment in Red China comes at a time when Communist Party officials are clamping down on Internet companies to control political dissent and opposition to the party’s tyrannical oppression of the nation’s 1.2 billion people – especially persecution of China’s illegal underground Christian churches.

Pat the Scam Artist
American Benefits Plus/Kalo Vita.... was a multi-level marketing scheme along the lines of Amway and Avon. Here, Robertson recruited people across the country (starting in '91-'92), as many as 20,000 people (many of them retirees) to sell coupon books. He told them in training seminars that his program was backed by the Bible, and that they could earn $15,000-$20,000 a month. Things didn't go that well with the coupon books, though, and Pat suddenly decide to change the company into Kalo Vita, and sell vitamins. Problem was, this left people with coupon books unsold, and when they tried to send the books back to AFB/Kalo Vita, they found out that they would not be refunded their money. One 76 year-old woman in in Indianapolis was stuck with $7,000 worth of unsold coupon books, and had to refinance her home. During the subsequent investigation, it was found that CBN had "loaned" money to AFB during its founding, almost 3 million dollars.

84. I support CBN and I am shocked by Pat
I support CBN because of the ministries they have around the world, but I think they need a new director.

I try to watch the last half of his show--the first half is full of nothing but Pat's stupid political swayings.

A few weeks ago I saw the whole "prayer offensive." My jaws dropped, my blood started pumping faster, and I had to hurry over to the remote to change the station. "Offensive" is right, I have never been more offended in my life. I'm only 19 years old but I'm certainly not going to be caught up in his bastardly agenda.

Do they really think having MORE republicans is going to get America back to the whole Leave it to Beaver era? (Which never existed in the first place)

I think Robertson is one of the major reasons why many Christians think they have to be republicans--Christian Coalition aside. Has it ever occured to him that perhaps some of the people who support his ministry are Democrats? I think i'm through with giving to that ministry, Pat's mouth has dumped nothing but hatred and intolerance for too long. Anyone know of some good charities to give to?
