White House won't rule out polygraphs in leak probe
http://www.cnn.com/virtual/editions/europe/2000/roof/change.pop/frameset.exclude.html

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House pledged full cooperation Wednesday with a Justice Department probe into the leak of a CIA operative's name, and a spokesman did not rule out the possibility that Bush administration employees could face lie-detector tests.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Wednesday that the White House has nothing to hide in the matter.

McClellan said no one has been asked to sit for an interview with investigators, nor has anyone come forward to admit to revealing Plame's identity. Asked if full cooperation meant sitting for lie-detector tests, he said, "Full cooperation is full cooperation."

3. There are "spies" at Gitmo
They might tell people what happens when they fly the whole crew down there for some "battery service" and we wouldn't want that.....in some sort of Orwellian surreal double speak kinda way.

11. Polygraphs are pseudoscientific nonsense
Aldridge Ames and Robert Hanson would routinely pass them without any trouble even though they both had been double agents for years. The scientist at the department of energy asked the federation of american scientist to do a study of the scientific validity of them recently (since they are now required to take them), and they determined that they are not at all effective. For some good references see:

2. Oh man.....
What I woudn't give to have Bush on a lie detector.

And if they are gonna take lie detector tests, it should be done by independents and they should have to do it in fromt of cameras. The right wing had no compunction about humiliating Bill Clinton.

4. "We gave everyone a polygraph and they all passed."
Polygraphs are worthless.

And they are not fully cooperating. If they were, we would know who the leakers were by now. They are stonewalling.

12.  "Full cooperation is full cooperation."
True, they didn't rule out polygraphs, but they didn't say they'd use them either. They kind of implied it...Just like they implied that Iraq had something to do with 9/11. Now they can come back and claim they never said they'd do polygraphs.
