Three bombs exploded in Baghdad this morning, wounding at least seven Iraqi civilians, police said. The first blast involved a roadside bomb targeting a police patrol near a major power plant in the Dora district of southern Baghdad, said policeman Ahmed Abdul Amir and the US military. They said no one was hurt in the blast.
A suicide car bomb exploded in the Azamiyah section of central Baghdad, targeting an Iraqi army headquarters, a police officer said. He said seven wounded Iraqi civilians were taken to a hospital.
Another car bomb exploded in Baghdad, but the exact location and its possible damage were being investigated, the officer said. He spoke on conditional of anonymity, saying he feared retribution from insurgents if his name was used by the media.
The US military in Baghdad said it had no immediate information about the two car bomb attacks.
