Frist Begins Mideast Fact-Finding Tour
JERUSALEM -- Senate Majority leader Bill Frist arrived in Israel Sunday as part of a fact-finding tour to the Middle East.

Frist, R-Tenn., met with Israeli Vice Premier Shimon Peres and will also meet Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas during his visit.

Frist is in the region to learn more on the status of Israeli-Palestinian relations and the regional political and security situation, a statement from the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv said.

During his trip, the Senator is expected to tour the contentious separation barrier Israel is building along the West Bank, the statement said.

Seriously. Video-viewing is his area of expertise, right?

The man is over there for one thing: photo ops. Maybe he'll blunder and cough up some fodder for us un-Fristians.

7. I wonder if he brought his Bible with him.
In particular, did he pack the "old testament". Somehow, I believe this is more of a "religious" jaunt than anything related to "fact finding". I expect he will preach to his "choir" from the Holy Land courtesy of us taxpayers.

But, we'll see.
