U.S. Says Iraqi Resistance Getting More Sophisticated
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20031002/pl_nm/iraq_sanchez_dc&cid=615&ncid=1480

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The top U.S. Army commander in Iraq said on Thursday his troops were facing increasingly sophisticated attacks and that it would take more lives and a lot more time before his forces could pull out.

Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez said it would take years before Iraq could maintain internal security without backup. There were some signs guerrillas were building up far-reaching command structures in the country.

"The enemy has evolved. It is a little bit more lethal, little bit more complex, little bit more sophisticated and in some cases a little bit more tenacious," Sanchez, commander of U.S.-coalition ground troops in Iraq, told a news conference.

"As long as we are here, the coalition need to be prepared to take casualties. We are still fighting...We should not be surprised if one of these days we wake up to find there's been a major firefight or a major terrorist attack."

11. IT IS IRAQ-NAM not Nationalism-- A RELIGIOUS WAR-- A CRUSADE
It will go on forever.

This general is corrupt and a liar.

He would go out and fuck fish if ordered to do so by his corporate masters. Some day soon Beirut will happen. We'll see then what happens

Meanwhile hundreds are killed, thousands maimed and wounded for Halliburton (2 LL'S)

3. I'll remind you that Ramadan begins on the 26th
http://www.holidays.net/ramadan/

I see that it is a time for worship and contemplation but I read on a thread somewhere here last week that an Iraqi experts warned that if things weren't under control by Ramadan the cause is lost.

Just something to think about.

8. Geez, I hope so.
How hard is it to figure out that the longer the resistance operates, the more time they have to recruit, raise support, and develop more sophisticated methods of fighting. I can't believe none of our military strategists foresaw this on the way in. Oh, that's right. The strategists all thought we would be received with wine and roses.

Bushco has created a literal living hell over there.

9. The longer the resistance continues the more difficult it will
be to reconstruct and normalize Iraq. That will cause more anger and frustration among those (mainly the Shiites) who aren't happy with the American's presence yet haven't joined the resistance yet.

At some point they are going to realize that their best hope for the future is to get the U.S. out of Iraq as quickly as possible.

That's when it will all unravel and the shit will really fly. As far as I'm concerned, the sooner it happens the better it will be for everyone except the Bush administration and that's just fine by me.

10. Welcome to the REAL war - message for the BFEE
I do not think that the Iraqi's believed for one minute that they could survive the onslaught of 1,000's of tons of missiles and bombs

- and had every intention of fighting this war on the ground

- and on the ground, the Iraqis know the terrain, know how to deal with the heat, and simply "watch and wait"

sorry GeeDubya

- the "war" was not "won" on May 1st - but had only really just begun -

- "the proof is in the pudding" so to speak

- USA is an occupier - not a freedom machine -

DUH !!

Sad - but true -
