Pinochet judge announces retirement
Thursday, May 5, 2005

The main judge investigating the former Chilean military ruler, General Augusto Pinochet, over alleged human rights abuses has retired.

Investigating judge Juan Guzman gained international fame after twice charging General Pinochet with murder and kidnapping.

Even though the General has not appeared in court, the judge told the ABC he was happy with what he had achieved.

"We never thought we would be able to go so far. I am satisfied," he said.

1. God bless you, Mr. Guzman
Even though I never lived in Chile and wasn't around when Pinochet was in power, I read about Pinochet's abuses and how much of a monster he is. You are truly a hero to everybody who loves freedom.
