First Bradblog and now Raw Story have developing stories and breaking news for us. I hope it's worth the wait and the suspense. I'll be dissapointed if its another story that sinks like a rock and is totally ingnored by the MSM.

and it wouldn't get mentioned in the MSM.

28. Heck, the MSM would love it if * took a crap on the WHitehouse lawn.
Then they could disprove Ron Reagan's statement that his dad "crapped bigger ones than Bu$h."

If it was just big-time campaign donations it won't even get a glance by the media.

5. If Bush masturbating a horse gets rave reviews by the media, nothing
is out there that the right wing controlled press will not spin if it is already widely known, or bury the report on the news if it is just a blog item.

Welcome to GOP state media - if you are GOP it is "fair and balanced".

4. The MSM is...
a lost cause. Even if they covered the story, they would put a pro-Bush spin on it and hire thousands of right-wing talking heads to cover the bases. Before long, the whole thing will be made into a partisan attack by us powerful liberals. There is no penetrating the MSM without coming up with our OWN media. That is the bottom line.

I still do not understand why anyone thinks that GE, Viacom, and Disney will do the right thing concerning telling the American people the truth. They won't. Not while they are raking in MAJOR bucks on other ventures and barely have to pay any taxes on their ill-gotten gains.

As far as the MSM is concerned, Bush is king and we had better start liking it.

7. no, they wouldn't ignore it
They would laud him for promoting diversity... and, with all the stress of the War on Terror, he needed the relief. Unlike Bill Clinton who presided over happy times and his incident with Monica was just pure evil lust.

8. What do 'ties to Abramoff" mean?
There is so much real illegal activity going on why does anyone think that SmirkCo 'having' vague 'ties' to Abromoff is going to get us anywhere?

Sounds like sensational rhetoric to me.

There's like ten threads on DU trumpeting this vague 'developing' stuff. What is up with all this?

If there's a story, publish the fucking thing. If there's not, stop cluttering up DU with tabloid headlines that are meaningless.

then it is a clear violation of election laws, especially if the group filed their financial reports and omitted to report all of their campaign contributions.

22. Appears to be legal:
"As a corporation, Greenberg’s unpaid tab represents a massive in-kind campaign contribution, far larger than anything that went unreported by DeLay. But it appears to be legal: corporations are allowed to donate any amount to the nebulous type of committee employed during the recount. It would, however, violate the committee's self-imposed $5,000 contribution limit from individual donors."

34. I've just about given up...I've tried to talk to people....
and when I do, they look at me as if I had two heads! I swear, people don't want to hear it! They might not like *, but anything about 911 or the stolen election or even the crudefest ala Laura the other night-forgetaboutit! People want to live in their own little bubble world where everything's fine just as long as they can pay their bills AND don't have to go and fight in the war or their kids don't have to fight in it. It's damned frustrating! I'm really starting to think that we will be suffering through years and years and years and years and years of this shit. They've got us and they know it.

This morning I've got a new idea. How about all of us take to the streets with bullhorns and start "broadcasting" the truth. Since god knows the corporate media isn't doing it. Maybe we could reach some people, I don't know. But I guess desperate times call for desperate measures! I don't know if this makes me want to laugh or cry...

Lobbyist Had Close Contact With Bush Team

By SHARON THEIMER, Associated Press Writer

Thursday, May 5, 2005

(05-05) 23:47 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) --

In President Bush's first 10 months, GOP fundraiser Jack Abramoff and his lobbying team logged nearly 200 contacts with the new administration as they pressed for friendly hires at federal agencies and sought to keep the Northern Mariana Islands exempt from the minimum wage and other laws, records show.

The meetings between Abramoff's lobbying team and the administration ranged from Attorney General John Ashcroft to policy advisers in Vice President Dick Cheney's office, according to his lobbying firm billing records.

Abramoff, a $100,000-plus fundraiser for Bush, is now under criminal investigation for some of his lobbying work. His firm boasted its lobbying team helped revise a section of the Republican Party's 2000 platform to make it favorable to its island client.

In addition, two of Abramoff's lobbying colleagues on the Marianas won political appointments inside federal agencies...
