Australian's captors set 72-hour ultimatum for Iraq pullout: TV
A militant group holding Australian engineer Douglas Wood hostage in Iraq has given Canberra 72 hours to start withdrawing its troops from the country, Al-Jazeera television said, showing footage of the captive.

"The group calling itself the Shura Council of the Mujahedeen of Iraq, which is holding Australian hostage Douglas Wood, gave Australian authorities 72 hours to start withdrawing their forces from Iraq," the Qatar-based news channel said.

Al-Jazeera said the demand was made by Wood in a video, briefly showing footage of the hostage with two machine guns pointed at his head.

It did not say what the group would do if the ultimatum was not met.

1. If the ultimatum is not met they will kill him. They have
quite a few beheadings under their belts and seem to enjoy it. They will continue to do it. The WH and evidently, the Australians, say they will not bend to terrorists. Well, damnit, we created them. It will only get worse. Hundreds of people are being killed every day whether it be by their own countrymen or us. I am sick of it. We should get out now while we can. Leave Iraq to the Iraqis. They will do whatever they want even if we stay there for years. Every one in the WH and Cabinet should be impeached pronto. We continue to go downhll in this country let alone Iraq.

2. I don't know if they enjoy it.
Before Bush's invasion, most of the 'insurgents' were probably just regular folk. Now they are resisting an invasion and occupation, which always creates extremely ugly circumstances and events.

But it is likely he will be killed, one way or another.
