Liberals win majority in Ontario
TORONTO - Dalton McGuinty will head a majority Liberal government and become the next premier of Ontario. The 48-year-old McGuinty led a Liberal tide that will take far more than half of the 103 seats in Ontario's legislature.

The Liberal win sweeps aside a Progressive Conservative government that had been in power eight years, and effectively ends the Tories' Common Sense Revolution.

The win gives Ontario only its second Liberal majority government in 65 years. The PCs under Ernie Eves will form the Official Opposition.

The member of parliament in our district is not decided yet...it's going back and forth...I'm rooting for the liberal to get in!!!!!

7. Only better if NDP could win.
I hope that the Liberals solidify their support for marriage rights. I wonder if PC will suffer and Alliance gain from this election. Alliance politics will not play well in most of Canada, and them being the only right opposition would drive many to the left.

8. When the NDP won Ontario in 1990
it was like a dream. Rae's government was good, especially since it inherited an awful debt from the outgoing Liberals, but I still feel it squandered the chance of a generation. Played it too safe and too close to the centre for my liking.

These days, it's the right which seizes the moment to impose radical change, as Harris did after he defeated Rae. I'd like to see the election of a leftist government that has the courage to say "Alright, we may be defeated next election, but we have power now, and by God we're going to do something with it."

9. you know, after all this ...
... wouldn't it be funny if Dalton really WERE a kitten-eating reptile from outer space.

I hope "22 Minutes" does something about this!
