Soldier describes wiring Iraq abuse victim
FORT HOOD, Texas (Reuters) - A soldier already convicted of abuse in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal testified on Friday that he was the one who attached wires to a naked, hooded Iraqi in an attempt to find the bodies of four U.S. soldiers and locate their killers.

Pvt. Ivan Frederick's testimony did not appear to help the government's case against former pizza restaurant worker Spc. Sabrina Harman, who the government has charged with placing wires on the prisoner pictured in a photo that sparked global outrage.

Harman faces six and a half years in prison if convicted on all charges, which include posing with a broad smile before a pyramid of naked detainees and attaching wires to the Iraqi and telling him he would be electrocuted if he stepped off a box.

Frederick, already serving an eight-year prison sentence, said the Iraqi man was thought to have information about who killed four U.S. troops and where their bodies were. An investigator wanted him to be sleep deprived before interrogation the next day, he said.

"Agent Romero wanted him stressed," Frederick told a military court at the nation's largest Army base. He quoted the agent as saying, "I don't give a f--- what you do, I just want him to talk tomorrow."

1. Agent Romero
Has this agent been charged with anything?

Why hasn't Rumsfailed been charged with anything?

Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also proscecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

Does the US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA?

at the bottom of the food chain have been held accountable for the administration's policies, policies which have violated our laws, humiliated our country and put our forces at greater risk.

Are you troubled that no one seems to notice or care that accountability has apparently become a quaint notion?

2. Geneva Convention
Not treatings prisoners fairly is what partly causes a lot of rebellion in Iraq.

FORT HOOD, Texas (Reuters) - A soldier already convicted of abuse in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal testified on Friday that he was the one who attached wires to a naked, hooded Iraqi in an attempt to gain information about the whereabouts of the bodies of four U.S. soldiers and locate their killers. snip

Harman faces six and a half years in prison if convicted on all charges, which include posing with a broad smile before a pyramid of naked detainees and photographing them as they were forced to masturbate. snip

"Agent Romero wanted him stressed," Frederick told a military court at the nation's largest Army base. He quoted the agent as saying, "I don't give a f--- what you do, I just want him to talk tomorrow." snip

The soldier, temporarily on leave from prison to testify at Harman's court-martial which began on Thursday, said investigators found the Iraqi did not have information about the deaths, and he was eventually given special privileges.

4. sick sick sick
these monsters need to be locked up in psyche wards for the rest of their days.

Rumsfailed needs to report to the Hague for his war crimes and crimes against humanity trial.

It's too bad that this article had to be read in a Swiss paper.

True, but * and the corporate cabal was not able to silence all reporting. And that is good news.

6. "Whatever it takes" Orders from the top down
<<Agent Romero wanted him stressed," Frederick told a military court at the nation's largest Army base. He quoted the agent as saying, "I don't give a f--- what you do, I just want him to talk tomorrow.">>

Yeah, he talked, but the poor bastard didn't know anything... although he would have told them anything they wanted to hear, which is why the military officially doesn't condone this: you get bad information. But, the fella was "eventually given special privileges, "which must excuse the torture, you think?

Also:

Spc. Israel Rivera said he was too intimidated to report the incident or to protest. "They were the ones with the authority," Rivera said.

<<<Asked why he did not report the incident, he responded: "It seemed like it would be compromising my own safety.>>>

Reminds me of Pogo's: "We have met the enemy and he is us."

9. Witness: Soldier Didn't Mistreat Prisoners
Witness: Soldier Didn't Mistreat Prisoners
By T.A. BADGER, Associated Press Writer
Sat May 14, 8:06 AM ET

FORT HOOD, Texas - The second soldier to go on trial in the Abu Ghraib scandal never participated in the prisoner abuse she's accused of, a prosecution witness testified.

Pvt. Ivan Frederick II, who has pleaded guilty in the case, testified Friday that he — not Spc. Sabrina Harman — handed wires to a hooded Iraqi prisoner forced to stand on a box for an hour in 2003.

A former soldier, however, testified that he saw Harman, 27, humiliate prisoners by helping to handcuff them in an embrace.

The two were among the 10 witnesses for the prosecution, which rested its case Friday; the defense is scheduled to open its case Monday.
