Pass Christian veteran police officer faces sex charges
http://www.sunherald.com/mld/thesunherald/11638879.htm

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. - The city's chief criminal investigator is facing up to 40 years in jail on sex charges.

Thomas Stephen Pustay, a 23-year law enforcement veteran, was placed in an isolated unit at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center following his arrest Wednesday night, Sheriff George H. Payne Jr. said.

The jail has a policy of isolating an incarcerated law enforcement officer for his or her protection to avoid potential contact with or harm from suspects they arrested, Payne said.

Pustay has been accused of sexual battery and carnal knowledge of a family acquaintance. The charges involve an underaged girl, police said.

1. I guess he decided to PASS on those CHRISTIAN values
I have to wonder, are they reporting this stuff better nowadays, are more people being caught because of aggressive enforcement, or is the world really going to hell in a handbasket???

4. Just for the record, it's not pronounced "christian"
They say say it "Chrisht-yan" sort of.

I went to school there.

2. Something I've always wondered
Edited on Sat May-14-05 11:46 AM by notadmblnd
I'm having a hard time putting this in words tactfully, but to put it bluntly, I've often wondered if the people who persue and love careers involving sex crimes... are really much different than the people who commit them? I mean to some degree both tpes of people get off on it, no?

3. You mean how SOME (not all) firemen would have become arsonists?
I suppose SOME sex crime investigators secretly get a vicarious thrill from being around it.

And SOME firemen just love fire.

And ALL anti-gay activists just love thinking about hot lesbian action or hard-core man-on-man aciton all day long.

5. I hope it's the same Pass Christian cop who gave me a ticket 21
years ago!

He claimed I ran a stopsign. While he was writing the ticket, about three more cars ran it. I went to the spot were he claimed there was a stopsign, and it was laying in the ditch...

I'm not bitter. Just because he gave me a ticket for something I didn't do on the night I caught my fiance with another guy... just because I had long hair and drove a camaro... The hell I'm not bitter. Probably a different cop, though. Thanks for listening.
