Iraqi U.N. Envoy Weighs Violence at Home

On-line Audio for this story will be available at approx. 7:30 p.m. ET

All Things Considered, May 14, 2005 · Police say gunmen assassinated a top Foreign Ministry official in Iraq Saturday, a death that came on the heels of a car bombing that claimed several more lives. Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations, Samir Sumaidaie, tells Jacki Lyden about the mounting toll of civilian casualties in his homeland. He's in Washington, D.C., for a tribute to the late Marla Ruzicka, a young American who worked in Iraq to aid civilians.

As I posted at the link below, the tribute to the late Marla Ruzicka is getting Absolutely NO News coverage, and nobody in the GD: Politics forum seem to care either.

1. Maria's story is very sad and you are correct with your observation.
This lovely young lady's death diminishes us all.

You could also say the same for the 1,622 sons, daughters, wives, husbands, mothers and fathers who have died in Iraq.

I think many of us are suffering from Outrage Overload. I know I am. I composed an email this morning about war & sent it to many in my address book.

<snip>

You do not understand the price our soldiers are being
asked to pay if you ignore the 'unpleasantness.' Take
a few moments to honor our soldiers by viewing their
sacrifices.

It took a Freedom Of Information Act to pry these
pictures out of our government:

http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB152/index.htm

The following URL shows a few of our 12,000 wounded
and maimed soldiers. CAUTION- contains some VERY
graphic pictures:

This post does not directly answer your observation; I just wanted you to know that it is being read. Please keep posting the news.

Peace.
