Dr. Rice Surprise Visit to Iraq finds pile of bodies

Condoleezza Rice Visits Iraq to Discuss Insurgents
34 Bodies Found Shot Execution Style in Less Than 24 Hours

Sasa Kralj, AP
''We are so grateful that there are Americans willing to sacrifice so the Middle East will be whole, and free," Rice said during her visit.

BAGHDAD (May 15) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met Iraqi leaders on Sunday to discuss the battle against an escalating insurgency, and authorities said they found the bodies of 34 men killed by guerrillas.

During her surprise visit, Rice said she wanted to move ahead the political process and undercut the insurgency. Guerrilla attacks have killed more than more than 400 people since the new cabinet was named on April 28.

In talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Jaafari, Rice discussed speeding up the training of Iraqi forces to take on greater security duties. Guerrillas have concentrated recent car bombings and assassinations on Iraqi soldiers and police.

"We are fighting a very tough set of terrorists who are, it seems, determined to stop the progress of the Iraqi people," Rice told a news conference with Jaafari.

7. As quoted by CNN.com:
"I want you to keep focused on what you are doing here," Rice told diplomats and troops in Baghdad. "This war came to us, not the other way around."

The war came to us?? The ugly American has never looked uglier. I'm beginning to understand why Prof. Churchill said what he did.

And if only there weren't hundreds of thousands of Iraqi soldiers occupying the U.S. - I look forward to the day that the U.S. resistance throws out these Iraqi invaders and their American collaborators.

13. Why is she calling them terrorists?
Edited on Sun May-15-05 04:52 PM by suegeo
Also, whose "terrorist effort" is Hadley talking about? The American effort to terrorize Iraqis, ala Shock and Awe?

"Obviously, she is going to continue that process, because that is really the way forward over the long term to bringing a conclusion to this terrorist effort," Hadley told CNN.

ON EDIT: Those bodies sure have a magical way of piling up around Rice. Asleep at the switch in 2001, whoops, bodies bodies everywhere. And now, this bullshit invasion of Iraq. Whoops, more death. I wonder what kind of soap she uses to keep the death stench in check.

--''We are so grateful that there are Americans willing to sacrifice so the Middle East will be whole, and free," Rice said during her visit.--

I had to read this twice because it sounds so ludicrous, and it is. Statements like this are meant for the loyal repuke assclowns to swallow, and they do.

--"We are fighting a very tough set of terrorists who are, it seems, determined to stop the progress of the Iraqi people," Rice told a news conference with Jaafari.--

Nah, they are determined to stop the * junta.

Every time I see that POS addressed as Dr., it always reminds me of Dr. Mengele.

Their purposeful, willing disconnect from reality leaves me absolutely breathless. And nearly speechless, which is really hard to pull off.

25. Insurgents greet Rice with car bombings, murders and chaos
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,11069-1614010,00.html

http://images.thetimes.co.uk/TGD/picture/0,,199761,00.jpg

Condoleezza Rice has urged the Iraqi government to find ways to include disaffected Sunnis (PETER MACKLER/AFP/GETTY IMAGES)

<snip>Yet even as she was shuttled across the country, insurgents stepped up their campaign of terror on a day in which 42 people died. It began with a double suicide-bomb attack against Raad Rashid, the Governor of Diyala province. He escaped unhurt, but four policemen and two civilians were killed. The attack followed assassinations of two government officials, one who worked at the Industry Ministry, the other at the Foreign Ministry. A Shia cleric was also murdered by gunmen.

Then police found the handcuffed bodies of 13 men near the sprawling Sadr City slum in Baghdad. They had been shot dead and abandoned in a rubbish dump.

West of Baghdad, in the insurgent stronghold of Ramadi, the remains of ten Iraqi soldiers were found with their throats cut. South of the capital, in Iskandariya, the corpses of eleven more Iraqis, thought to be lorry drivers, were found in a field, four of them beheaded. snip

Abu Ali, a taxi driver, said: “I heard Rice was here. Is she here to improve electricity? Is she here to listen to the agonies of the Iraqi people? Of course not. She is here to promote American interests, not Iraq’s.”

Meinhardt Raabe sits for an interview at his New York hotel on Tuesday, May 3, 2005k. The 89-year-old is promoting his book Memoirs of a Munchkin. Mr. Raabe played the character of the coroner in the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz and uttered the famous line that pronounced the wicked witch dead, saying “As Coroner, I must aver, I thoroughly examined her, And she’s not only MERELY dead, She’s really most SINCERELY dead.”
