Campbell headed for second majority: CBC News
VANCOUVER – Premier Gordon Campbell will form the next government in British Columbia, says the CBC Decision Desk.

The Liberals have about 46 per cent of the popular vote, while the NDP have 41 per cent support.

Campbell would be just the second premier to win back-to-back majorities since former Social Credit premier Bill Bennett did it back in 1983.

So, neo-con Campbell has reached Wacky Bennett jr.'s record. Better than the Zalm, I guess. Discuss.

I loved the Rhino party. They always brought a certain amount of frivolity to the election process. My favourite idea of their's was to move the Rockies to Saskatchewan, because, well, it would break up the view.
on edit: Does the U.S.A. have a "silly" party? Inquiring minds want to know.

6. We now have a strong opposition though...
and that will give Carole James the time to prove to some, me included, that the NDP has REALLY changed and moved away from the Clark NDP type of government and back to their roots. If they can, they will have my vote next time.

7. STV did surprisingly well...
According to CBC: 57% Yes 43% No (too bad it requires 60% to pass for some reason)

Shows the writing is on the wall--makes you wonder if electoral reform is being re-thought in the halls of power. Admittedly Single Transferable Vote was a tough sell, but quite surprising it got the support it did given the negative coverage and the fact a virtual 'who's who' of BC politics were strongly against it.

8. I agree, it has done well
especially given there was virtually NO coverage of it and the main party leaders were absent in supporting it, unfortunately. CTV has yet to report the percentage vote on it. We needed 60% yes in each of 60 ridings, a very high standard to reach.
