Apparent murder-suicide leaves Fort Bragg soldier dead
Edited on Sun May-22-05 10:16 PM by Tom Yossarian Joad
A soldier who returned home from Iraq on a rest break from war was apparently shot to death by her husband, who then killed himself, police said.

Fayetteville police said they received a call at Saturday afternoon from a man who said he just shot his wife and was about to turn the gun on himself. Arriving officers found the couple dead inside their apartment at the Cambridge Arms.

Fayetteville police withheld release of the couple's names until their families were notified. The wife was a soldier who had just returned from Iraq for a rest rotation, police said.

Their next door neighbor, whose own daughter was in the same unit and also returned from Iraq Saturday, said she heard arguing and then a shot.

3. More blood on W's hands
A war without reason, a war without positive results.

People who weren't around during Vietnam are finding out now about political wars and what they do to the fabric of this country.

4. Guns: the lazy coward's weapon of choice.
Don't have to run anyone down to stab him/her, or risk being overpowered by someone stronger, always have the discreet protection of distance from a quarry, and don't have to confront the eyes of someone you might otherwise try to choke to death.

Today one of the gungeon RBKAer's told me that if I didn't like their interpretation of the 2nd amendment and America's absurdly high murder rate, i should leave.

5. Very sad, and BushCo gets a free ride because this will not....
...anywhere in the U.S. war casualty statistics, but are very much a part of the tragedy of Bush's War.

10. The apartment complex is called CAMBRIDGE ARMS
Another neighbor, Mairta Martel, said the sound of gunfire is a familiar one in her apartment complex.

"I usually hear that noise all the time," she said.

Appropriately named, that place.

Wonder if the husband who did the shooting is military? The article didn't say...
