Blair to visit US, Russia, EU capitals in G8 drive
Prime Minister Tony Blair will embark on a diplomatic shuttle ahead of a G8 summit in July to press for agreement on Africa and climate change, his office said on Monday. He will start in Rome this week.

Before the summit, Blair will also visit Moscow and Washington, will see French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, and hold video conferences with the prime ministers of Canada and Japan.

"No one in the G8 disputes that Africa and climate change must be the priorities," Blair's spokesman told reporters. "We believe we are making progress ... but we still have some way to go."

As part of Britain's G8 chairmanship this year, Blair will host the leaders of the Group of Eight countries -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States -- at Gleneagles in Scotland from July 6-8.

3. The US will turn up with their position, and they won't budge from it.
Thats diplomacy Bush style, and it comes with the dangerous gap in power that exists between the US and the rest. If only other leaders could present a untited front, backed up by threat of sanctions to force the US to act on climate change, Africa etc. But it ain't gonna happen.

4. I can't believe that the US has come to the point
because of Bu$h and his cabal that people would even think about putting sanctions on the US. That's what happens when we let criminals and murders take over our government. BTW: They hang traitors, don't they?

5. Iraq Oil-for-Fraud scam a big problem for Poodle, Shrub etc:
former cold war Soviet spooks may be implicated in this scam that also connected to their network of WMD disinformation providors.

UK cops and spooks have long been pressing Poodle to kick out over 100 top former KGB operatives. But Blair would never have got himself elected in 1997 without their active support and input.

Maybe he thinks like Shrub that the missing UN $$$$$$$$$s from the oil/food programme will simply go away from the headlines just like the missing $$$$$$$$$$s from ENRON...
