Afghan Forces Arrest Opium Smugglers

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Afghan anti-drug forces arrested suspected drug traffickers and seized a huge cache of opium in a show of resolve after President Hamid Karzai came under fire for his record in fighting the world's largest narcotics industry.

Meanwhile, authorities found the bodies of two Uzbeks believed to have been kidnapped and killed by Taliban militants for working with U.S. forces.

The pair were the latest foreign kidnap and ambush victims in Afghanistan amid a recent upsurge in attacks reminiscent of Iraq. An Italian aid worker abducted in the capital a week ago remained in captivity.

The drug operation took place Sunday and Monday in southern Helmand province. Provincial officials said up to 15 suspects were arrested, including a former intelligence chief.

Amazing...just utterly amazing the corruption going on in that flegdling democracy.

Making money off of the drug trade and 60% of the GDP is from poppi crops and the UN calls the nation a narco-state, one can't swing a dead cat without hitting a trafficer, grower, dealer or buyer.

So this is more bullshit. Basically, a translation of the story should go as this:

Today, two fuck ups were caught trying to screw over a drug lord by taking his crop and selling it as their own. They didn't pay off the local police and/or military so they were made an example of what not to do.

In other news...

Bush ass-chews the Mayor of Kabul for not doing anything about the big money people in Afghanistan.

Karzai says "Well, I need HELP, you dumb-shitz!"

Shrub says "Well, why didn't you SAY so! Now THAT'S a horse of a different colour!"

And as fast as you can say "Rummy's your Father, Luke", they collar a coupla small-potatos and take somebody's dope away.

Tomorrow, the dope will be going to it's original destination under new "ownership", and the 2 small-timers will be found feeding the buzzards as a warning to others to keep up on their "insurance" premiums....
