Mother Of Wounded Soldier Speaks Out

In Walker County.... The mother of a wounded soldier in Iraq speaks out about the hard time she has had finding out about her son's condition.

On May 13th his humvee was blown up by a suicide car bomber.

Gail Carpenter says she knows Shannon is at a hospital in Germany, but did find out about the incident until her son called two days later.

She says all she has gotten from the military are vague emails informing her that her son is wounded.

6. I am a soldier's mom-and catch flack...

...from my right-wing co-workers about my strong anti-war sentiments.They ask me"how can you be that way?our soldiers need our support!"I remind them about how many have been killed and hurt,and how we can't even equip the troops properly.I then refer them to the memoryhole.com site,so they can see the fruits of this war for themselves.I then ask them how far they are willing to go,beyond some stupid yellow ribbon-how many of their kids they are willing to sacrifice.End of discussion...What a travesty.
