State Department: Syria a terrorism sponsor
Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- The United States, responding to the latest outbreak of violence in the Middle East, called today for restraint on all sides.

The appeal from the State Department came as Arab leaders warned that a "circle of violence" could encompass the region after Israeli warplanes attacked deep inside Syria for the first time in decades.

That attack followed a suicide bombing Saturday in Haifa, Israel for which the Palestinian Islamic Jihad took responsibility.

President Bush on Sunday telephoned condolences to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, while Israeli Ambassador Daniel Ayalon conferred with White House and State Department officials.

Lieberman said the Syrians "have to get on the right side of the war on terrorism or they're not going to be our allies and certainly not the Israeli allies." well if this is cheerleading I think Lieberman needs to get a different cheer!

:bounce:

3. I'm convinced the U.S. approved
Israel got approval and maybe was even encouraged to bomb Syria, I'm sure of it.

5. Hmmm
Wasn't Syria next on the PNAC Hit List after Iraq? Perhaps the Admininstration got gunshy after Iraq blew up in our faces and left the task of starting the next "pre emptive war" to our so called only allies....
