Local Peace Group Infiltrated By Government Agent
Edited on Sun Oct-05-03 06:24 PM by BullGooseLoony
LOCAL PEACE GROUP INFILTRATED BY GOVERNMENT AGENT
By Mike Rhodes
October 4, 2003

Peace Fresno was infiltrated by an agent working for the Fresno Sheriff’s Department. Aaron Kilner, known by Peace Fresno activists as Aaron Stokes, attended several Peace Fresno meetings. Peace Fresno activist Nicholas DeGraff remembers him taking voluminous notes and several members say they saw him at peace vilgils held at Shaw and Blackstone. He was also on the bus local anti-globalization activists took to attend the WTO ministerial-level conference on Agricultural Science and Technology demonstration in Sacramento in June 2003.

Aaron Kilner died in a motorcycle accident on August 30, 2003. In his obituary in The Fresno Bee he was identified as a member of the Fresno County Sheriff’s department. The obituary went on to say that he was “assigned to the anti-terrorist team.” Local activists believe that this “anti-terrorist team” is, in fact, the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) that has recently been formed in this area.. When members of Peace Fresno saw the picture and read of Kilner’s association with law enforcement they began piecing the story together.

I realize this is a little more than 12 hours old, but I thought it was important, and still could be seen as "breaking" news. I haven't heard anything else about it on the board.

1. Good Post
Glad to see this post up here. This type of thing has been going on for years. It won't stop until citizens wake up and get tired of being spied on, and preyed upon by the guys whose salaries WE PAY. Good to see it's at least being aired out when it happens.

2. Some people DO seem suspicious at Peace Rallies
Now I don't feel silly about having a "sixth sense" about certain people attending peace rallies and anti-Bush protests.

11. The COUNTERINTELLIGENCE PROGRAM (COINTELPRO) NEVER ENDED
Not really.

Corporations have taken over private intelligence operations (Clark helped cut some of these deals under Clinton) and basically it is all political black ops nowadays.

Under Bush it is even worse because they must cover up massive political and genocidal crimes going back generations - to even the Holocaust and before that, Armenia (not to mention Africa, Asia and Latin America)

Just think about the possibilities HERE to gather "intelligence" and work the covert magic (not to mention the elections coming up etc.)

I could be COINTELPRO for Chrissakes(I'm not - but me or anyone just saying we're not does NOT make it true)

13. DU is definitely monitored

The whole damn internet is monitored-- that's why the NSA has jillions and jillions of computers monitoring everything from cell phone calls to emails all around the world. None of this half-assed Watergate break-in shit for Ashcroft and co-- they want Total Information Awareness.

And if they want to try to get "intelligence" from DU, well... why not? This board is open to all. Maybe they'd actually LEARN something... :P

16. In my few posts, I wonder if I will have somebody from the gov't
spying on me. I have been less than kind to this administration and all of the bozo's that run it. I wonder what it takes to be considered dangerous and worthy of investigation from the DOJ? Obviously not much if they feel the need to go after peace organizations. But remember, liberals hate america!

I remember reading about it... should probably get moved to GD...

At any rate, I think it's despicable that the government is infiltrating legal activist groups.

10. Your counterterrorism dollars at work! Hallelujah!
Now we hear from the city council of Wherever (squeeze nose and balls to get that dry nasal eunoch sound): "The Joint Terrorism Task Force performs an essential function by allowing law enforcement officers to carry out effective investingations of groups with potential to support, harbor, and condone terrorist agents and subversive elements in our community."

12. Bring the treasonous bastards on. Bring 'em on
They OUT our terrorism agents and then spy on our peace activists who are trying to prevent the deaths of our soldiers and make peace with our "enemies".

I would suspect that even these agents of the right are getting compeltely disillusioned with Bush and Rumsfeld and Ashcroft and Cheney and Mueller et al (the BFEE starting lineup)

14. The Peace Group ought to sue on this
Peace Groups ought to sue disruptors like this. For one thing, it is a waste of government resources to be spying on Peace Groups. They aren't terrorists by any stretch of the imagination.

Note that he 'took voluminous notes'. Would be good to keep an eye on people doing that at Peace Group meetings.

19. I'm not sure that would go anywhere
Unless there is some law against undercover observation, which there isn't.

I'm sure they could raise a stink to holy hell about "our tax dollars at work," -and they should- but I don't think that litigation would go anywhere at all.

17. These folks have been spying on every movement like this for the last...
...200+ years. I remember people taking pictures of individuals during the Vietnam demonstrations...and quickly walking away when people started watching them.

It's part of the territory when you buck Big Business and/or Uncle Sam.

27. Absolutely. In Philly, in Vietnam days, we all knew the local undercover
agent. He'd march with us, get info on our plans, etc. He was part of Rizzo's police squad. Of course, he was one of the ones we KNEW about. There were plenty more, I'm sure, we didn't know about.

If you're in a peace group, you can count on the fact that about 1/10th of your membership is FBI.

21. Not to plug a controversial site, but...
Edited on Sun Oct-05-03 08:40 PM by nu_duer
I have seen repeated warnings about government infiltrators into the peace movement at whatreallyhappened.com - usually, according to this site, these infiltrators, aside from keeping tabs on the groups activities and plans (and members) wait for opportune times to do outrageous things that will reflect badly on the peace group and movement.

I know there are duers who think this site (wrh) is crap, but the guy has warned about this type of thing for at least a year, that I can vouch for.

And he's been right about a LOT of things...

22. That's where I found this article.
By the way, maybe it would be good for us "liberals" to get some people into this political web the conservatives have going. It would be good for us to know about their plans before the fact.

24. You may be a bull-goose, but you're no 'loony'! Great idea.
I think activists should start going to their local/county repuke party meetings, and start bringing up things that need to be talked about.

Activists should start infiltrating every repuke org. there is, and start making waves....churches included....which is another hot-bed of fascist activity these days.

It's time to take our country back!!

28. There's a notorious line by, I believe, RFK, responding to Hoover.
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 04:32 PM by Merlin
Hoover says, "Mr. Kennedy! We've got to do more. The Communist Party has thousands of members in this country!"

RFK replies, "Well they wouldn't be so damned active, Edgar, if it weren't for the fact that half of them are your fucking agents!."
