Iraqis warn on more peacekeepers
The Age Company Ltd

An Arab satellite network has aired what is said was a statement from anti-US Iraqi fighters warning countries against sending troops to join the Americans and Britons in Iraq.

"We strongly refuse, and will resist with weapons, any military intervention and under any cover from the United Nations or the Security Council, NATO, or Islamic and Arab countries," said the statement aired on Al- Arabiya by a group calling itself the Iraq Liberation Army.

The statement was addressed to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

The previously unknown group said any such deployment of troops "serves the occupying American and British forces, minimises their great losses, and legitimises occupation". ---

1. When did an occupying force become Peacekeepers?
This seems to be the latest linguistic chicanery. Peacekeepers are troops who are placed in a country to keep warring factions within that country apart. They are NOT the troops occupying a conquered country. You only have to describe the German army that occupied most of western Europe during WW2 as "Peacekeepers" to see how ridiculous this description is!

2. The only way that Bush can win this occupation--

is to kill all of the Iraqi people. If you doubt this, think
for a minute what you would do if America were invaded to
"liberate" us from him.
