Bush firm on Iranian nuclear program
US President George W. Bush said Monday that Iranian elections had not changed his view that it would be "unacceptable" for Tehran to obtain a nuclear weapon or the ability to make one.

"The development of a nuclear weapon is unacceptable, and a process that which would enable Iran to develop a nuclear weapon is unacceptable," Bush said as he met with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.

Bush said his administration would continue to support Britain, France and Germany in their diplomatic push to ensure that Tehran does not get atomic weapons.

1. Sounds actually like he's backing down on this one:
"Bush said his administration would continue to support Britain, France and Germany in their diplomatic push to ensure that Tehran does not get atomic weapons."
Maybe he's actually listening to general's who are telling him he can't win in Iraq, much less in Iran.

2. I'm a bit more skeptical.
Just like with Iraq, shrub will say "I tried diplomacy. Change didn't happen overnight, so we're going after them ourselves."

7. I agree that Bush would like to do that, he just doesn't have enough
troops to pull it off, even with a massive draft. Of course, if he manages to stage another 9-11, then all bets are off.

3. Ya know, bush is the only one talking about nuclear weapons. They're
talking about a peaceful nuclear energy program :-)

8. There is no way Iran needs nuclear energy-it's for the weapons
They have all the cheap oil they want for power; they want a bomb and the military power that comes with it. I for one do NOT want to see a country like that getting nukes; they need to be stopped.

11. I don't think anyone should have nukes. However, I also think that this
is just an excuse for Bush to go to war with them.

4. Bush is keeping it in the news
Every time he talks about Iran
it fires up the American blood lust for war.
War is coming.
