Republicans Begin to Question War In Iraq

John Lobertini
Reporting

(CBS 5) President Bush spoke to the nation Tuesday night in an attempt to address many concerns about the war in Iraq.

But among those questioning U.S. policy are a number of Republicans.

"I don't see a direction out of him in terms of where he's trying to take the country," said Jeff Werolin, 44, a Republican and a real estate agent in Folsom.

Werolin voted for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, but says the president's message on the war has gotten muddy since November 2nd.

"I just feel like we're moving along business as usual and it's starting to get the feel of a quagmire," he said. "That's sort of the feeling I'm getting, and I didn't have those feelings nine months ago."

7. Pelosi says we must destroy their brand
and I'm adding the way they did ours. It's good that people are questioning Bush and his administration but we have to get them to question the whole Republican party and to then come over to the Dems.

9. No mention of DSM on TV tonight
what the fuck? with the tons of verbage devoted to the president's shitty poll numbers, how can there not be any mention of the DSM? Gee, do you think the president is tanking because there is a detailed case from 8 documents, independently verified by the London Times, Associated Press, Washington Post, and L.A. Times, that proove the president's entire policy on Iraq was based on lies? That we flew 22,000 sorties, bombed 400 targets with 600 tons of bombs? Do you think that could be it?

I am PISSED at this cable TV coverage. Not one mention of DSM, and I have been flipping to everything. Even saw Kerry talk at length, with no mention of the DSM.

13. Too bad they can't be sent there.
That would really lead to some "questioning" the war.

God, we could have been free of this nightmare months ago had you people not woken up to the obvious sooner!

Oh well. I may complain, but it's better that people are becoming aware now than not aware at all, and I'm all for welcoming them in our folds to return sanity to this country.
