U.S. ambassador has no plans to testify on Arar deportation (P. Celluci)
HALIFAX (CP) - The U.S. ambassador to Canada rejected Friday a request that he appear before a parliamentary committee hoping to question him about Washington's deportation of a Canadian citizen to Syria.

"It's not what diplomats do - at least that's my understanding of what the protocols are," Paul Cellucci told reporters following a speech to an offshore energy conference. The House of Commons foreign affairs committee passed a motion Thursday to call Cellucci to explain why Maher Arar, a Syrian-born Canadian, was deported to Syria instead of Canada last year.

<snip>

Arar, 33, was returning to Montreal from a vacation in Africa when he was arrested in New York's Kennedy International Airport during a stopover on Sept. 26, 2002.

No charges were laid, but 10 days later he was sent to Syria and not Canada, where his wife and children live in Montreal.

Arar returned to Canada on Monday after Syria said it had no evidence he is linked to terrorist groups.

<snip>

Frigadeeeeeee !!!

- NO charges were laid

- Syria found no links to terrorists

- AFTER the guy spent a year in Syrian Jail

- WAY TO GO - NEIGHBOUR !!!

(Dat wee rant is not for Americans - It's for ur Murikkkan Government !!!)

By Definition

DIPLOMAT

One, such as an ambassador, who has been appointed to represent a government in its relations with other governments.

One who uses skill and tact in dealing with others.

a person who deals tactfully with others

skill and tact - dat's doesn't describe Celluci - eh??

Someone wanna send Paul Celluci the following Link ?????

I think Celluci has got "diplomat" confused with "weasel" ?!?!
