Some 2,000 police officers were involved in the arrests, most of which occurred in and around Milan.
Most of the arrests involved drugs, theft or illegal immigrants. However, more than 3 pounds of explosives were found with one suspect, the BBC reported Saturday.
More than 80 of those arrested were non-European Union citizens and 52 have been issued orders of deportation.
