Georgia offers $83,000 for clues on Bush attacker

TBILISI (Reuters) - Georgian police on Monday announced a new, $83,000 reward for information about the man they suspect threw a grenade during a speech by visiting U.S. President Bush in May.

U.S. officials said the grenade only failed to explode because of a malfunction and landed within 30 meters (100 feet) of the president as he spoke to tens of thousands of people in Tbilisi's Freedom Square.

The reward was more than seven times the $11,000 offered by police back in May.

"Georgia's Interior Ministry has set a 150,000 lari ($83,000) reward for anyone who has information and could help us in finding this man," Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili told a news conference.

4. Only $83,000?
That's all the leader of the free world is worth? C'mon guys. Georgie has easily dropped more than that on coke and booze for just himself during his pathetic little lifetime.

6. Now someone "threw" the grenade?
This story has changed more times than a diva in a grand opera. I've seen stories that the grenade was "found" in the area, or that it was "thrown" onto the speaker's platform, or that it was nowhere near where Bush had been, or that it was right under his podium, or that it was found hours after the event and no one knew where it had come from.

Now they're looking for a thrower. Well, I'm sure the corrupt Bush administration will duly instruct me as to whether I should panic or not over this.
