Egyptian analysts blame Israel for Sharm el-Sheikh terror attacks

SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Egypt - Less than 24 hours after terrorists killed at least 88 people in attacks on the Sinai resort town of Sharm el- Sheikh, Egyptian sources claimed that Israel was responsible for the deadly bombings.

The claims were apparently based on the fact that most of the victims were Egyptian nationals.

Egyptian media analysts, sources in Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood and Egyptian parliamentarian Ala Hasnin, in an interview with the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television network, all suggested Israel was responsible for the attacks.

One Egyptian analyst interviewed by Al-Jazeera said that is was in Israel's interest to carry out such a terror attack and thus Jerusalem was thus responsible for Saturday's bombings.

As if on some kind of eerie cue, Israel gets blamed. Of course, this 'analyst' thinks the US could have done it. This all sounds SO familiar!

"Interior Minister el-Adli had earlier on pinned the attack on Islamic militants. "This is an ugly act of terrorism," el-Adli said in a statement carried on the government news agency. "It has nothing to do with Islam, they are only acting under the slogan of Islam.

Egyptian Tourism Minister Ahmed el-Maghrabi told Egyptian television "What happened early this morning is rejected by all people. These criminal gangs will not be able to prevent people from travelling and moving."
