Iraq still central terror front despite other bombings: Rice
RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP) - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice insisted that Iraq was still the central front in the war on terror despite a spate of bombings elsewhere in Europe and the Middle East.

Rice, in the midst of a new round of Middle East diplomacy, was among the first to condemn Saturday's blasts in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, which left at least 88 people dead including foreign tourists.

But the chief US diplomat rejected a suggestion that the bombings in Britain, Lebanon and Egypt this month belied the US strategy of considering Iraq as the nexus of the war on terror.

She told a news conference here that the US approach to global terror was to promote democracy and development and create "a different kind of condition here in the Middle East so that extremism doesn't flourish."

6. Is there anyone in Bush's incorrigible
administration who has an ounce of honesty? They are all devious and corrupt. I can't say that about any other administration in my lifetime. The Congress is sitting still for the lies and manipulation being carried out by Bush and the Gang. If Bush's God would only get out the broom and sweep them out of our lives.

8. "Create a different kind of condition here in the Middle East..." I'm
surprised she wasn't run out on a rail. She really should have been for that statement.

You Middle Easterns don't know wtf you're doing and you're allowing extremism to flourish. The US is gonna have to step in here now and clean up your mess. We'll be sending Karen Hughs in the near future to get you set straight. :eyes:

I can't believe they don't hate us for our arrogance.

11. The neo-cons called Iraq flypaper on the war on terror.
Which is an insulting and racist way to look at a country. Even that absurd theory is now belied by the facts.
