Panel OKs Karen Hughes for State Dept
WASHINGTON - The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday unanimously approved the nomination of Karen Hughes, a former political adviser to President Bush, as the State Department's top public relations official.

Hughes' main assignment as Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs is to reverse anti-American sentiment around the world.

She said at a committee hearing last week that the challenge was "the urgent need to foster greater understanding, more respect and a sense of common ideals among Americans and people of different countries, cultures and faiths around the world."

1. Maybe she will wear duck-hunting camouflage for the job
like she did on Halloween.

I hate that woman as much as the rest of the bastards who stole the White House from America.

What the hell is this?

Also approved by the committee on Tuesday were five new ambassadors as well as:

_Henry A. Crompton as coordinator for counterterrorism

_Henrietta Holsman Fore as undersecretary of state for management

_Josette S. Shiner as undersecretary of state for economics

_Kristen Silverberg as assistant secretary of state for international organizations

_Jendayi E. Frazer as assistant secretary of state for Africa.
****************************
I don't ever remember "coordinators" or "undersecretary" or "assistant secretary"...have any of our past presidents had these positions when in the WH?

Peace.

4. Well, That urgent need should be easy for her to do.
:sarcasm: I am sick and tired of it all. Time for a break. Being sick and tired too doesn't help. OK, reverse anti-American sentiment around the world? oh dang, I am sick and tired of it all.

to her 'going back to texas to be a mom and wife" I wonder?
Did her son graduate already? And what does her husband think about this new assignment? They certainly are continuing to circle the wagons.
