Suicide car bomb hits Iraqi police checkpoint

BAGHDAD, July 27 (Xinhuanet) -- A suicide car bomb struck a police checkpoint in al-Suaiyb area southwest of Baghdad on Wednesday, wounding four policemen, police said.

"A suicide attacker detonated an explosive-laden vehicle at a checkpoint manned by Iraqi police and interior ministry commandos,"an interior ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Two policemen and two police commandos were injured in the blast, the source said, citing initial reports.
