Sources: July 7 London Bomb Plot May Have Been Much Larger
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 06:45 PM by seriousstan
LONDON, July 27, 2005 — The plot for the July 7 transit bombings in London, which killed 56 people, may have been much larger than previously known, ABC News has learned.

Sources familiar with the investigation tell ABC News an additional 12 bombs and four improvised detonators were found in the trunk of a car believed to be rented by suicide bomber Shehzad Tanweer. Police believe the bombers drove the car to Luton, where they boarded trains to London.

"I believe that the explosives left in that car were left there for a second strike," said Bob Ayers, a London-based terrorism consultant with expertise in demolition. "But the metropolitan police responded so quickly, they were able to get to the car and take control of the car before the second team could get the explosives and leave."

ABC News obtained exclusive photographs, which show the devastation left inside the London subway lines after the July 7 attacks.

7. People are surprised by the evil they are willing to do?
And that spooks them? I just meant the story would probably scare the bejeezus out of the few that are not scared already. I'm not sure what you are trying to get at.

9. Just a thought...
Seems like poor planning if both teams/waves didn't have their backpacks from the start of operations. Leaving them in a car belonging to someone that was going to die in the first wave is definitely a stupid hole in the plan. If they had to be left anywhere why not lockers. But ideal would be everyone would have their stuff. This is as dumb as carrying ID with them. Or the failed attempt having identifying papers in the backpack. If they are smart enough to carry out this plan, wouldn't they be smarter than that?

10. How smart do you have to be to commit murder and suicide?
4 fools talked into killing themselves and others by people smart enough not to do it themselves. Doesn't sound like a brain trust to me to begin with.

8. yep..blairbush were involved, somehow
why did pigmedia not marvel over the coincidental 'preparedness exercises' being held by a security company using the exact same tube stations that were really bombed, and at the same time! The pigmedia ignored the nasty little detail because they don't trust the herd to think what they're told to think if something so utterly peculiar is added in....this 'distrust' of the herd, the people, means the pigmedia themselves must be suspect.
abc news is the epitome of pigmedia....the entire management should be arrested, tried and executed, just for the hell of it :)

12. The latest report on the BBC
seemed to indicate that there were 16 bomb "components" and only 1 fully made bomb (BBC Newsnight, which specifically mentioned the initial ABC report as saying there were 16 bombs).
