Chris Cox SEC Nomination Vote Moves Investor Alert to Yellow
Chris Cox SEC Nomination Vote Moves Investor Alert to Yellow; Consumer Group Says Cox Would Be a Nightmare for America's Nest Eggs

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Americans should consider their 401Ks and other investments less secure today, after the Senate Banking Committee forwarded the nomination of Rep. Chris Cox to head the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on to the Full Senate without objection. The nonpartisan Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights (FTCR) called on Committee leaders to recall Cox for a second hearing in light of misleading and apparently false statements he made during his confirmation hearing Tuesday.

The group noted that Cox's response to questions about a massive investment fraud with which he was associated misled Senators by suggesting that he had only marginal involvement with the web of fraudulent companies and that there was no settlement with victims of the fraud. Both statements are untrue, based on previous press accounts and documents that were released yesterday by FTCR that are detailed here http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/resources/cox_ltr.pdf and are available at http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/resources/4thComplaint.pdf.

GSA crony Kisses Congressman Cox’s Ass in Public

Yesterday (4-28-03) I had the distinct dis-pleasure to attend a public meeting held in Irvine California to explain the turn-over of the El Toro Marine airbase to 4 multi-national companies (or as they called it an internet auction).

As a resident of Irvine I have been watching the political turmoil over the last 5 years on how to they were going to dispose of the military base that was to be shutdown. After surviving the “Airport Plan” our city council pushed for the “Great Park” plan and had it approved by the voters last year.

U. S. Congressman Christopher Cox was for years Pro-Airport and Anti-Park but “Teflon Cox” has now decided to take credit for it all and to celebrate his flip-flop they had this big “Dog and Pony” show with senior representatives from the navy and GSA (general services agency). It is worth noting that the Irvine city mayor, Larry Agran and the city council (who fought for the park) were not invited to the table and never mentioned by name. This was Cox’s show!

The highlight of the event was the speech by GSA Regional Administrator, Peter Stamison. He started out letting everyone know that he was appointed by ex-governor Pete Wilson and had turned down an appointment by the Bush administration to move to Washington (for some unknown reason) to stay with the GSA. He then proceeded to shamelessly praise Cox’s leadership in fighting to reduce taxes. What does that have to do with a base turnover? Calling him the “top republican from California” he then heaped praise on him for getting an “A” rating from the most conservative anti-tax PAC in the country. Then he asked the audience to stand and applaud this “stellar republican figure” while shaking his hand. This was really a “Cox for President” rally under the guise of a base turnover.

Oh, My, God! Teflon Cox did it again!

4. I Know Chris Too He Is A Lyin' Cheatin' Fuckwittage
I won't go into details but Chris took a shine to me when I worked at Robinson's department store in Fashion Island Newport Beach Ca circa 1987. I went to quite a few parties where the Orange County elites rubbed elbows and other body parts. What a disgusting group of whale shit slurpers. I know some really titillating tales. Indeed I do.

7. Cox just looked at the numbers
As South County was growing, it was obvious that the majority of his constituents did not live in Newport Beach and were against the airport so he wisely read the writing on the wall.

He, and the editorial board of the OC Register, always wanted to "sell the base for the highest bidder" without ever stipulating that the buyer would have to abide by zoning codes. After all, what would prevent a buyer from building, say, a feedlot? Or a toxic landfill?

5. Another BushCo pay back for 9-11
Cox just happened to be with Rummie and Wolfie in the Pentagon on 9-11. Of course, he towed the party line has to what went on that morning. Oh what a good little Repug he must be. Isn't pay back grand?
