Nethercutt hails Iraq's recovery["better story than losing a couple" lives
Edited on Wed Oct-15-03 05:10 AM by truthisfreedom
oh, those darned repugnants, and their happy thoughts. well, i guess i must agree, the reconstruction story of hundreds of billions of our badly-needed treasury dollars dumped into corporate pockets is a much better "story" than the fact that hundreds and hundreds of americans are dead, and thousands and thousands of Iraqis... and that's what we need, "stories." like the one about the goat that bush was telling as the second tower fell and he sat idle, scrambling no jets...

Nethercutt hails Iraq's recovery
'It is a better ... story than losing a couple of soldiers every day'

By WYATT BUCHANAN
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER

Rep. George Nethercutt said yesterday that Iraq's reconstruction is going better than is portrayed by the news media, citing his recent four-day trip to the country.

"The story of what we've done in the postwar period is remarkable," Nethercutt, R-Wash., told an audience of 65 at a noon meeting at the University of Washington's Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs.
"It is a better and more important story than losing a couple of soldiers every day."
<snip>

Nethercutt is a member of the House Appropriations Committee that approved President Bush's $87 billion request for military and reconstruction expenses in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dan Senor, an adviser to U.S. administrator for Iraq L. Paul Bremer, also spoke to the UW audience -- by phone. A traffic accident kept him from catching a plane in Washington, D.C.

3. I wonder, how many of his children
are in Iraq? It's so easy to dismiss death when it's far away.

15. His children will never be in IRAQ
Like their dad GEORGE R. NETHERCUTT---- Meredith (1980) and Elliott (1984) will probably sit this one out---although, Elliott is of "PRIME DRAFT AGE".

Maybe Elliott can join some National Guard outfit, although rumor has it that those "outfits" get activated every now and then.

Or maybe these lily white wasps will just sit back and let some darkies and mexican guys do it for them </sarcasm>

read the bio folks I could make up this shit if I tried

4. They don't call him low blow for nothing
These are the most disgusting ruthless statements. They reveal where these unethical and immoral people are coming from. His evaluation is completely dishonest. What did he do? Tour Iraq from a helocopter?

I'm as fiscally conservative as anyone.

WE'LL BE OUT OF THERE IN FIVE YEARS OR LESS!

What a bunch of scumbags.

7. NETHERCUTT IS A LYING CHICKEN HAWK
READ THIS JERK'S BIO----

http://www.house.gov/nethercutt/biography/index.html

Apparently after wasting away at wine and cheese parties in college, he went to D.C. as a staff Atty for Sen Stevens---

He then returned to Washington State and entered into private law practice with his father with offices in Spokane, Almira and Seattle, focusing on estate planning, probate and adoption law.

This guy is a real asshole---Catch this quote

" This organization mirrors the Representative's belief that the private sector is better equipped to handle social problems than the bureaucracy of government. "

I hope someone here will point out this jerk's comment about the troops to his constituents. OUTRAGEOUS !!!!!

18. His bio doesn't say when he returned to Washington State.
Does anybody know? If it was little more than enough time to fulfil his residency requirements to run against Foley such should be used against him.

10. Because of security concerns the COngressional delegation
stayed in Kuwait and flew into Iraq and back each day. Things are going so well in Ieaq they can't even assure the security of VIP's.

I have no doubt they had a phalanx of security guards whereever they went in Iraq.

11. Since I am a voter in Nethercutt's district..
I know he's gonna try for Patty Murray's Senate seat next year, where he will likely be roundly defeated and can retire in Virginia and be a lobbyist for the rest of his life. His wife comes from the area south of DC, and I'm sure she wants to stay there ALL the time.
He's a goner next year.

13. You Can Always Tell The Ones Who Haven't Served
You can always tell the ones who haven't served.

You don't hear vets like McCain, Cunningham, Kerry, or Clark spouting obnoxious comments like this. Why? Because for most people who have been in combat, there is a realization of the mortality we all share and a profound respect for that mortality.

That leaves chickenhawk jackasses like this clown and President Bush and Senator Delay to play the big macho guy card.

It's pretty easy to talk tough when you never had to put it on the line, isn't it you stinking cowards?

19. Nethercutt was on the Dory Monson Show today.
He claims he was misquoted because he also said in his the loss of our soldiers' lives was a tragedy (or something like that). I might have given him some sympathy but he went on to cry about what a victum he was.

Dory Monson tried to compare this incident with that of Sen. Patty Murray's saying Osama Bin Laden helped garner support of third world countries by building roads and schools in said countries. Nethercutt would have none of it saying Patty Murray was essetially a traitor. He went on to whine about what victum he was and how the Democrats were picking on him.

First we get the expected "united front" from the usual liers, now we are treated to the wisdom of these second and third string right wing hacks.

Really, it is impossible to listen to these shits try and justify any of this insanity anymore.

25. But it's a story they never tell.
Repukes keep saying the media's not giving a positive message, but they won't tell us what the hell the message is. Just once I want to hear someone respond, "Alright, what's going on over there that's so great?"
