U.S. Citizens Ordered to Leave Gaza
U.S. Citizens Ordered to Leave Gaza

JERUSALEM - U.S. citizens were ordered to leave the Gaza Strip following a deadly attack on a convoy of U.S. diplomats Wednesday, diplomatic sources said.

Three Americans, apparently security guards for diplomats, were killed in the attack near the Palestinian town of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip.

Several hours after the bombing, U.S. investigators were attacked by Palestinian stone throwers and sped away as their cars were pelted by rocks.

Diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity, said U.S. citizens were asked to leave the volatile strip, but details of the order were not immediately available.

This is how the "elite work"...you start with wanting US ciitzens out of Gaza...so how do you get them out....a bombing.

Now..why do they want US citizens out of Gaza?

2. Yes, very interesting...
since there was talk on tv here that these security guards were working for a private company. It's a murky world in those parts.

3. Witnesses
Israel also arrested 4 peace activists, two (I think -- story has disappeared from Haaretz website) of them American.

Something very bad is about to happen in the Gaza Strip.

4. This whole thing stinks
How do you spell MOSSAD?

It does not make sense for the Palastinians to attack this convoy because these were people that they had invited into Gaza. Funny how these things always happen just when it will give Sharon and W the excuse they need to escalate this conflict.

6. Terrorists are not rational
They hate. They murder. They kill women and small children.

Now you expect them to be masters of geo-political strategy?

No, they don't need a reason to kill, just an opportunity.

10. What utter crap
On a day when terrorists attack a diplomat, you blame the people who actually try to shut down terrorists.

Sure and crime is the fault of the police.

If the terrorists were not organizing, building bombs, etc. in Gaza, then we would have less of a problem.

No more than they would sell or possess bomb making materials.

snip:Jerusalem police who Tuesday discovered a bomb lab
run by an Israeli Jew believe that the explosives
were to be sold to criminals, although are still
investigating whether he planned to sell to
Palestinian militants as well.
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/349817.html

Nor anymore than they would make up false Al-quaida cells...

snip: Chronology of the Revelations
On December 7, the British news service, Reuters, the Israeli daily Ha'aretz, and Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV network, all reported that the Palestinian Authority had accused the Mossad of creating a phony al Qaeda cell in the Gaza Strip. Ha'aretz reported, "the head of Palestinian Preventive Security" in the Gaza Strip, Col. Rashid Abu Shbak, said on December 6, "that his forces had identified a number of Palestinian collaborators who had been ordered by Israeli security agencies to 'work in the Gaza Strip under the name of al Qaeda.' He said the investigation was ongoing and evidence would be presented soon." Al-Jazeera TV added that the Palestinian authorities had arrested a group of Palestinian "collaborators with Israeli occupation" in Gaza, involved in the operation.

Reuters' reporter Diala Saadeh, under the headline, "Palestinians: Israel Faked Gaza al-Qaeda Presence," quoted a number of Palestinian Authority (P.A.) senior officials, including President Yasser Arafat, who told reporters at his West Bank Ramallah headquarters, that Sharon's claims of al Qaeda operations in Palestinian territories "is a big, big, big lie to cover attacks and his crimes against our people everywhere." P.A. Information Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo detailed the case:

"There are certain elements who were instructed by the Mossad to form a cell under the name of al Qaeda in the Gaza Strip in order to justify the assault and the military campaigns of the Israeli occupation army against Gaza."

He explained that those released had voluntarily provided information going back to May 2002, about the contacts that had been made asking them to operate as an "al Qaeda" group. The alleged al Qaeda recruiters were traced to Israeli intelligence, said Colonel Shbak. He detailed incidents, some of which were described in official documents, of cell phone calls and e-mails, where Palestinians were asked to "join al Qaeda." Shbak said, "We investigated the origin of those calls, which used roaming, and messages, and found out they all came from Israel," reported the publication IslamOnline. He said that the potential "recruits," had been given money and weapons, "although most of these weapons did not even work." He also noted that the money for these targeted Palestinians "was transferred from bank accounts in Jerusalem or Israel."

9. I can't help it, but
Edited on Wed Oct-15-03 08:49 AM by Aidoneus
...you just described the recent assault on Rafah that you previously rationalized and spun.

You can't just make this stuff up as you go along. You may not like it, and I get that loud and clear, but that doesn't make something irrational. And it seems that "terrorist" just means "I don't like that guy"--the latter is exponentially more honest.

11. Nope
Terrorists target non-combatants (like women, children and diplomats). Soldiers like the IDF target terrorists.

--snip--

At the opening stage of the operation,
8-year-old Ibrahim Krinawi was killed. Ibrahim,
whose house was in the first row facing the
border, was the youngest of five children. His
father Ahmed said the family was in the house
when the operation began. They were going to
leave but the bulldozer got there before they
were able to do so. He said the bulldozer began
tearing down a wall of the house, and he and
his children went outside to stop it. At this
point, a single shot hit Ibrahim in the right
side of his chest and he collapsed.
His father
called an ambulance. As Ibrahim's brother Ayad
told it, "at the beginning, he was conscious
and yelling that it was hurting him terribly
and for us to save him. Then he began to bleed
and he begged us to take the bullet out but we
couldn't do anything." The father said a
Palestinian ambulance stopped a few hundred
meters from the house but could not come any
closer. Finally, family members carried Ibrahim
to the ambulance. An hour later, he died at a
makeshift clinic.

--snip--

No "terrorists" or "tunnels" or any of that bullshit here. Spin away, I'll probably enjoy the maccabre attempt to justify this.

I remember that women were also shot in this assault.

The "diplomat" thing is something you added here to just apply to this on the fly, I don't think there were any of them hanging out in Rafah so I can't point to an example of that too--but if there were, chances are good they'd have been hit also.

15. Many left homeless in Gaza
If the US Army were to do this in Baghdad, the outcry from liberals would be deafening. But let the IDF do the same thing, and many liberals clam up in a cocoon of moral cowardice.

Here is the story, and ask yourself if there is any connection between the crimes committed by Israel and events such as what happened today in Gaza:

16. hm..
from that, a blatent and direct lie is put forth:--

--snip--

Col. Pinky Zoaredez, Israel’s commander in southern Gaza, said Palestinians and international aid organizations had “exaggerated the numbers” and that soldiers had destroyed “no more than a dozen houses.”

“Our mission is to stop terrorists from smuggling ammunition and weapons from Egypt,” Zoaredez said. “We behave very gently with innocent people.”

But a Washington Post reporter counted a dozen houses demolished or heavily damaged on three blocks of Salahuddin Street in the Rafah refugee camp’s Yibneh neighborhood — just one of at least a half-dozen communities within the camp that have been attacked by the Israeli forces.

12. Just like the IDF huh?
No, they don't need a reason to kill, just an opportunity.

Isn't it convenient that the IDF has been very recently criticised for a major operation in the Gaza strip! Now with this bombing, some of the people who are reporting on what the IDF is doing in Rafah are being ordered out? Surprise!

20. What the fuck do you know about the mind of a terrorist?
Your post also infers that you know who did this, that you know it wasn't Israel that did this? And my apologies, but saying you've thunk 'bout it just won't do.

17. With all the bleated platitudes condemning
the "security fence" crisscrossing Palestinian territory, like the walls surrounding Jewish ghettos, the US vetoed the UN resolution condemning it. The lone vote.

With all that has transpired, with all that has been suppressed, with the complicity of our government - and all of our politicians of every stripe, with shrill charges of anti-semitism should outrage be expressed even on progressive websites....It wouldn't surprise me in the least, I am sorry to say, that if Israel were to commit crimes against humanity on an unspeakable scalem there would barely be a blip on the radar... They were all terrorists after all, and like Japs, Charlie, sand niggers, wops and kikes before them, robbed of their humanity.

calls in anonymously....and shrub is now blaming this on the Palestinians for condoning violence.

This seems like a set-up....how can we be so quick to judge with zero investigation?
