'Perle commends Israeli raid in Syria'
didn't see this mentioned--though it should come as no surprise, really--, but lock it if it's redundant..

Perle commends Israeli raid in Syria
Pentagon adviser says attack was long overdue
Official doesn’t rule out American military action against Damascus

Pentagon adviser Richard Perle said Tuesday the recent Israeli attack on an alleged training camp for Palestinian militants in Syria was long overdue and that he would not rule out US military action against the Arab state.

Perle, a close adviser to US President George W. Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, spoke at a Jerusalem conference of conservatives from the US and Israel.

--snip--

US supporters of Israel’s hard-line government said Monday peace in the Middle East could be decades away and called for an end to negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.

--snip--

The conference, which concluded Tuesday, is a “world forum for all the sane people,” said Dmitry Radyshevsky, who helped organize the event. Calling Israel an “absurdly liberal country,” Radyshevsky called for “moral clarity in the war against terrorism.” Agencies

Also in the piece, Alan Keyes adds:--"It's time we end our preoccupation with peace in the Middle East”...

One would think that one unfolding disaster is enough to shut these dreamers up, but there has to be more.

2. pnac.
project for the new american century. it's all there. they will not stop the plan, even though they know at this point that bush will lose in 2004. all they want is to empty our treasury into the pockets of the war machinery people... the military industrial complex, to destroy country after country and tie up the american people with saving face for the next 50 years spending every last penny our country generates on war and nation-building. bush's co-horts won't be satisfied until the next 50 years of american taxpayer spending is completely set in stone with their foolishness. hundreds of billions of dollars per year dumped into corporate coffers... with no end in sight...

6. I thought the same thing when I read this article the other day.
I thought, these people are truly unwrapped! When I was reading what Perle said I couldn't believe during all the uncertainty and questioning now that they would push forward with Syria and probably Iran. I don't hold out too much faith Libya isn't far behind.

3. A bit about Dmitry Radyshevsky
MOSCOW - Dmitry Radyshevsky has watched how the Christian Right has turned churches in the United States into bastions of support for Israel. Then, he thought, why can't the same thing be done in Russia?Radyshevsky, executive director of the Tel Aviv-based Mikhail Chernoy Foundation has been making the rounds in Moscow and abroad to convert the Russian Orthodox Church into a pro-Israel and pro-Jewish force.

His message, novel for a country that for centuries has been characterized as anti-Semitic, is that Russian Orthodox Christians and their church have a religious duty to support Israel and end anti-Semitism."At first, they didn't understand what I was talking about," Radyshevsky said. "Our point is that a true Orthodox Christian cannot be anti-Semitic," Middle East Newsline reported."So, the union between Russia and Israel cannot be just that to fight terrorism. The church cannot be anti-Zionist either. Zionism is written in all the scriptures."The approach is similar to that used by pro-Israeli conservatives with the Christian right in the 1980s. Radyshevsky, a Russian native, is a former divinity student at Harvard University and has lived many years in the United States.

Catholics are. Many Palestinians are Eastern Orthodox and they don't like losing their homes anymore than the muslims.

9. I've also read plenty about the PNAC
Project for the New American Century. Notice the not-so-subtle title: "American Century", as if we're going to own the entire century, or that it will be all about us for the next 100 years...it might be about us, but not in the way Richard Perle thinks...

Yes, he is definitely the mad scientist and the PNAC is his Frankenstein. However, the thing that struck me about Perle were his eyes. Look closely next time you see a photo of him. The irises are absolutely black, empty holes. Really spooked me out the last time I looked. I wasn't sure if he was human. Very similar to shark's eyes...very black, but very vacant.
