Connecticut Gov. Rowland's 18-Year-Old Stepson Arrested on Drug Possession Charge
The Associated Press
Published: Oct 16, 2003

NEWINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Gov. John G. Rowland's 18-year-old stepson was arrested and charged with drug possession after officers broke up a party at a friend's home.
Ryan Largay and another friend, 17-year-old Christopher Bosco, were both charged with possession of less than 4 ounces of a controlled substance after Monday's party, The Hartford Courant reported Thursday.

1. Smoke it baby!
Must have been the old nasty weed, since they mentioned it was in ounces. Never figured that one out. They always give the pot charges in ounces while coke and crack and everything else is in grams.

2. Damn Liberal Media
Doesn't mention that Rowland is a..........wait a second.......Rowland is a Republican.

Oh, well. I'm sure that it was just an oversight. Move along. Nothing to see here.

7. Right, Enron-steeped Rowland is a GOP flunky...
Alas, alak the Citizens for Legitimate Government website will clear up the Reichwing Hartford Courant's omission. I just posted it there:

GOP Governor's Stepson Is Charged (CT)Gov. John G. Rowland's 18-year-old stepson and a friend were arrested on drug charges Monday night after police broke up a party at a rent-by-the-hour Berlin Turnpike motel.

3. Isn't It Strange...
:eyes: that when ever this kind of news breaks and a Dem. is involved they plaster a big fat (D.) after the politicians name? Yet, when a Repub. is involved... nothing. Let me also say that I feel sorry for this kid and that I don't think we should go around destroying peoples lives (Dem. Or Rep.)for having pot. And although the article doesn't say it's pot it seems pretty evident it was.

4. Not news
This is just a typical example of Republican hypocrisy on the war on drugs.

What is significant, however, is that Rowland may well face indictment for corruption before he leaves office. If through some intrigue Rowland manages to avoid criminal charges, his political career is still over; he may in fact be the least popular elected official in the United States.

5. Well, others have noticed it. Here's the proof
http://www.nga.org/governors/1,1169,C_GOVERNOR_INFO%5ED_122,00.html

Of course I already knew he was a Bushevik Totalitarian.

Why? Because Corporate TV Pravda didn't identify which party he was from, in conjunction with bad news.

I guess living in Stalinist Russia was also as boringly predictable as living in the Amerikan Empire.

At least Bushevik Tyranny hasn't yet "trickled-down" to our level yet, giving us this pleasant twilight between day and darkness.

8. Same for another case
During the entire Giordano affair, one of the most depraved incidents ever involving a politician, his party affiliation was never mentioned.

10. Really?
I wasn't aware that L'Affair Giordano received much in the way of coverage to begin with outside of Connecticut.

11. I just noticed this story on Netscape
And I was wondering if the Gov. was Dem or Repub and now that I see that he's a repub it all makes since now. For some reason right under the story about this guy they put a link to the 5 month old story about Dean's son and the first word in that story is Democratic yet Rowland's party isn't mentioned once.

12. Stop War on Drugs
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 10:12 PM by michaud
The folks above who have said it is hypocritical for the Republicans like lets say Governor Roland to keep pushing the War On Drugs is quite true.

On the other hand it is hypocritcal for us to point the finger, or let me be more specific me, to make a politcal case out of the arrest itself to somehow humiliate people. The greater case I must say is to use this story as a wider push to eliminate the War on Drugs, and instead have the government use the money to actually educate not criminate.

It is a shame that rapists and white color rapist (ie $$$) get less time and hassle for the crimes they commit. Susan Smith for example.

It is time to end this silly War On Drugs forever, because the government is never going to win this war.

13. I just can't believe people still party there
Jesus, I lived near where he was arrested in high school (in Wethersfield) and people used to have parties at the same fleabag motels 13-15 years ago (I only went to one once- too much trouble). People would frequented get arrested and busted by the cops back then too. Hello, this is not the place to party, central CT kids! Dumb Repug, idiot kid.
