Taliban resurgence worries US
The Bush administration has expressed concern over the Taliban's resurgence but a senior official said he was optimistic that US forces would defeat any offensive.

In congressional testimony, senior defence and state department aides said that two years after United States-led forces ousted the Taliban from power in Kabul, Afghanistan remained beset by strife and poverty.

But they argued that US efforts to remake the country, including a $1.2 billion grant by President George W Bush, were forging a new future for Afghans, after an agonised generation of war, occupation and tyranny.

3. Personally, I think that the USA's "war on terrorism" is a farce

, , and that it has only INTESIFIED groups around the world to hate the USA

. . so - in plain English,

I think that the USA's actions have made the world more dangerous, NOT safer - -

Just My Humble Canuck Opinion

9. The only thing the Bush White House is "worried" about
is how their military FAILURE in Afghanistan will impact their future plans. But it isn't as though they weren't told in no uncertain terms that it was a stupid idea to begin with.

10. Just Maybe Russia will aid the Taliban
this time as the US helped the Taliban against Russia.

We were told nothing could be won in Afghanistan if we went in, and now it appears like good advice.
