FBI: Moussaoui not involved
Washington - The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has concluded that Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person charged in America in connection with the September 11 attacks, was not involved in the strikes, Time magazine reported on Sunday.

The news weekly, in its edition appearing on Monday, quotes unidentified sources as saying the FBI has long believed that the Moroccan-born Frenchman "played no part in the 9/11 scheme and was only a minor player in al-Qaeda."

Moussaoui was detained by US authorities on an immigration violation less than a month before the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

5. Don't you remember...
"Sovereign Immunity"

Bastards are covering up for their dirty tricks in the prosecution. The guy was probably guilty but they never ever played fair.

Eventually the judge turned on them and there was nothing for Ashcroft to do but cave. And cave he did, it seems.

3. Is this another public slap in the face for Bush? Are we seeing the seeds
of a revolution planted by agents of the Federal Government? Is there a REAL war going on that we can't see? And how about Asscroft, doesn't this make him look like the biggest ass of the 21st century?

Please, someone run the tapes.

Bill Gertz, please step forward - straighten us out - what does the Pentagon say?

Hannity, please step forward - what ever is this going to do about the war on terra?

9. It probably would have outed the executions of others
I think we have probably executed anywhere between 300-800 at Gitmo. Maybe Moussaie wanted to call some of them as witnesses ? Can't call them if they are dead. Looks bad if everyone he wants to call is dead already. Remember Junior* saying some people are just 'no longer a problem' in his SOTU address? Well they probably ARE a problem to call as a witness if you have had them executed under the Patriot Act.

Or if you have to bring them up from Gitmo and then they spill in the courtroom all the torture and executions that are happening there.

Just a wild guess.

You mean we can't jest kill that thar mockingburd?
Sheesh,
en jest after they done cut the other one loose.

Lotfi Raissi, the Algerian pilot from Arizona who was vilified as a trainer for the Sept. 11 hijackers, has filed a $20 million claim against the American government, saying he is an international scapegoat.
The suit is about dignity and justice, not money, he said.
"They come and they take innocent people and put them in jail just to prove they're fighting terrorism," Raissi said during a phone conversation from London, where he lives. "It was scandalous. I lost my career. They destroyed my family."
http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/local/articles/1014raissi.html

Aw shucks,
what R we agonna do when the other living terriers show up with their hands out?

10. Something smells rotten to high heaven!!!
They want this guy out of the news!!!

They can not deal with the embarrassment of going to court!!!

It will bring up the 911 investigation that the Bushies want
to sweep under the rug permanently.

They would rather have the dark force take care of him than
make this court case public.

This smells like it has Karl Rove and As*croft all over it!!!

It is clearly possible for people to receive a fair trial on such charges in the Federal courts. It only makes the insistence on secret military tribunals more clearly attempts to secure means for rail-roading.

How much was he able to accomplish on his own without cooperation? Was he represented? Anyone know the history. For a foreigner who really doesn't or shouldn't know our laws and who was blocked every inch of the way when making requests for files...he ended up OK.

Anyone know the legal history on representatives of M?

20. Take it easy on Crisco Johnny!
After all, this is the guy who lost to a dead opponent. He needs those USA PATRIOT Act powers because he can't even secure a conviction against a pro se defendant in what is arguably the biggest trial the Justice Department has ever prosecuted.

When defendants exercise their rights to confront the witnesses against them, get a chance to review the evidence against them, can't be questioned or tortured into giving evidence against themselves, the poor Justice Department doesn't have a chance of securing a conviction. They need those secret tribunal provisions!

Crisco Johnny was the kid that had to be pitched underhand.

37. Biggest case ever?
The results distinctly remind me of the Inslaw (PROMIS) case in which several dead journalistic bodies and DOJ gameplaying hushed a multitude of sins, a judge finally found the DOJ guilty of forcing the bankruptcy of the owner of this controversial software. Inslaw exists today and continues to market software in the areas of criminal law, health insurance, etc...

As for backdoor tracking, if PROMIS could count/track criminals to further a premis of "speedy" justice, then why couldn't the same technique(s) be used for counting/tracking votes/voters... Just a consideration????

I think the BFEE/whomever got what they wanted from both situations and were willing to allow the objects of their disaffection continue on as well as possible (hopefully, not very) -- there's now a pervasive buried stigmatism for techies (only those needed by skill or those who can be exploited for our "projects" need be employed)and persons of the ME (very sneaky, lock 'em up - they might have/be an evil cousin). Does anyone else see the similarities!

RIP Danny Casolaro - Let truth be known and justice served!

22. As I predicted in August 2002

http://www.democraticunderground.com/cgi-bin/duforum/duboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=1141&forum=DCForumID60#2

In order to maintain the morale of their terrorist troops and the efficacy of their terrorist network the Bush--Saudi criminal conspiracy for world domination has succeeded in giving the appearance of trying to catch them while insuring that they go free. At every turn they obstructed the Moussaoui trial by refusing, ostensibly for national security reasons, to allow witnesses to testify. This insured that Moussaoui would be let go.

The other "terrorists" in GTMO are probably just internecine opponents without a clue, or simply unlucky fall guys. The tribunal system won't be needed now, though it will be used when possible for those the fascists want to eliminate. The Bush fascists can run suspects through the normal legal system, make it look like they are doing something about terra', then neutralize the case by disallowing evidence for national security reasons. In time they won't even try to get any suspects. Americans are so fucking zombie brained they don't even know who Moussaoui is.

Now that it is declared Moussaoui was not involved all of the evidence surrounding this mysterious case falls by the wayside: agent Crowley's findings, and the FBI agent who tried to call higher ups about Moussaoui in the "laptop computer affair" and later, coincidently, died as Wellstone's co-pilot.

The Bush fascists have a legal, political and economic working system to insure they will be able to use terrorism whenever they choose and protect the terrorists from legal retribution. They control the political system from top to bottom and can change it at anytime with a recall after they create chaos in the targeted political zone as they just did in California their popular puppet like that asshole Swartznegger in place as the crowds cheer. They can count votes anyway they want as well.

America just became a Banana Republic, if it wasn't one already.

40. No kids, eh?
I just read your bleak August 02 epitaph and can't say there's much there to disagree with. But a small child presents a dilemna. How can one 'make peace' with it and thereby relegate one's child to a half-life, whether emotionally, as the empire relegates consciousness and conscience to the dustbin, or literally?

41. You do what you can
and then leave it.

I didn't bring any kids into this world and am thankful I didn't. I didn't because I saw no reason to teach them right from wrong, or how to be good citizens, etc. as I learned. You play against a stacked deck no matter what and if you are honest you are the only one in the game with your cards above the table. Be honest, be forthright, be compassionate and..... LOSE!

Bush and the destruction of this democracy is the final proof on that. This cabal of fascists have destroyed every important function of democracy, everything: The Constitution, the election system, the Press, the socio--cultural milieu is suffocated with materialism with all of its self-centered mendacity, the environment.... This specie has degenerated into a crowd of flag waving, football crazy fascist fuckheads and the only justice will come when they are forced out in the street to fend for themselves and choke to death in the polluted shithole they created.

It is the gutless, the hypocrite, the treasonous, the scum of the earth that rise to the top and that is because this specie has evolved into what it is. It has self-actualized. It became what it wanted to become. It gets the leaders it deserves and the ones it wants.

Sobeit, I've made peace with that fact, nothing I do or say will change it. I wish I had never been brought into this world and won't be unhappy when I leave it.

What keeps me going are the moments when I take one of the sons-of-bitches apart, through foul means or fair.
