Van Susteren Enters U.S. Senate Race (in Maryland - for Sarbanes' seat)
This was just on our local CBS affiliate's teevee news

Van Susteren Enters U.S. Senate Race

(WJZ) Baltimore, MD Psychiatrist Lise Van Susteren -- the sister of TV personality Greta Van Susteren -- has formally entered the race for the U.S. Senate in Maryland.

She announced her candidacy this morning and joined a growing field of candidates for the Democratic Party nomination to succeed retiring Senator Paul Sarbanes.

The Democrats already in the race are congressman Ben Cardin, former congressman Kweisi Mfume and activist Robert Kaufman.

Other Democrats are thinking about running and Republican Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele is considering a
possible candidacy.

had a staff position on the John Kerry primary campaign, a fact that Greta revealed in the interest of "full disclosure" when she was interviewing one of the Dem primary candidates.
