Katrina criticisms echo past complaints against Bush
WASHINGTON (AFP) - Complaints about President George W. Bush's reaction to Hurricane Katrina echo past criticisms over crises like the Asian tsunami or the Iraq war.

Doubters are asking whether he reacted too slowly to the catastrophe, sent enough troops to keep order, or relied too much on rosy scenarios spun by senior aides while New Orleans descended into anarchy.

Some lawmakers and local emergency officials have called Washington's initial reaction "a national disgrace" and assailed the Bush administration as having a too-little, too-late response.

On its Internet site, CNN on Friday quoted upbeat assessments of relief efforts by US officials, which contrasted sharply with the grim conditions on the ground.

1. The more people see the contrast the more they will understand that this..
admin has been and continues to LIE to them.

The corp media can only hide so much now... IME increasingly people are turning the internet as a source for REAL news, pictures and info. It would be interesting to know the web traffic statistics over the last few days compared to "normal".

2. Still A Miserable Failure
Did anyone expect him to rise to any occasion that does not involve raising money for the RNC?

3. this maladministration will attempt to dodge the fact that they
were all incompetent, negligent and uninterested.

Hopefully, the truth will show they are all of the above:

Days after Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco said her state urgently needed as many as 40,000 troops, Bush on Saturday ordered 7,000 soldiers to join some 4,000 already in the region. Some 21,000 National Guard were already there.

4. Hard to believe but...
With the exception of 9/11 which fed right into their obsession with taking out Saddam, Bush and company seem to lack compassion. Every time a disaster hits, they seem to be out playing golf.

5. That's why people shudder a little everytime it's announced
that Li'l Weasel is taking a weekend, week, month, or longer off for a "working" (ha!) vacation.

Problem is, he seems to have been on perpetual vacation since he took office -- so it follows that the citizens are perpetually screwed.

8. here's the vacation record (up to Oct 1, 2003) and it's only grown
since then:

How many vacation days has George W. Bush taken to date as president? How does that compare with Clinton?

<snip>

While the president of the United States is never completely on vacation, most commanders-in-chief manage to enjoy a respite from the daily grind during their stay the White House. George W. Bush seems to have taken this to the extreme early in his tenure as president. A humorous, fake resume for Bush suggests that he set the record for most days on vacation by any president in U.S. history -- a bit of an exaggeration, but still cause for some teasing.

According to an August 2003 article in the Washington Post, President Bush has spent all or part of 166 days during his presidency at his Crawford, Texas, ranch or en route. Add the time spent at or en route to the presidential retreat of Camp David and at the Bush family estate in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That's 27% of his presidency spent on vacation. Although to be fair, much of this time is classified as a "working vacation."

Bush isn't the first president to get away from his work. George Bush Sr. took all or part of 543 vacation days at Camp David and in Kennebunkport. Ronald Reagan spent 335 days at or en route to his Santa Barbara, California, ranch during his eight years in office. Of recent presidents, Jimmy Carter took the least days off -- only 79 days, which he usually spent at his home in Georgia. That's less than three weeks a year, which is closer to the average American's paid time off of 13 days per year.

12. Once he's gotten a couple dozen democrats to take the fall...
And the public perception shifts off of him, THEN it's the right time to politicize it.

10. Impeach CEO Bush-Now

Enough is enough. I've emailed my Senators Durbin and Obama and my congressperson to begin an impeachment hearing immediately.

We the People should demand that this president be the CEO that he claims to be and resign from his position of honor and trust. Any other CEO whose horrible job performance caused hundreds, perhaps thousands, to die would be fired by the corporations board of directors.

WE (the People) ARE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS of this beleaguered country, and it’s time we demanded our hired CEO leave his job. If he doesn’t, we throw him out via impeachment and a trial in the Senate.
