Iraq 'link' to blasts (Sir Crispin Tickell: oil, Iraq, blasts in UK)
IRAQ 'LINK' TO BLASTS

A TOP diplomat yesterday said it was "moonshine" to deny the link between the London bombings and war in Iraq.

And Sir Crispin Tickell, former British ambassador to the UN, insisted toppling Saddam Hussein was connected to the control of oil supplies.

He called Government bids to deny both claims "dodgy and absurd". <snip>

"We were one of the principle performers in Iraq, we are one of the principle victims of the terrorist attacks, so to say it's not to do with it is moonshine ... and of course it had to do with oil."
