Human Rights Group calls for ending raids on Tal Afar (Kuwait news)

IRBIL, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- Human Rights Center in Iraq on Monday called on the Iraqi government to intervene and stop the intense and random raids on civilians in the city of Talafar, 70 kilometers west of Mosul.

In a letter to the Iraqi president, prime minister, and members of the National Assembly, the Human Rights Center in Iraq - Kirkuk Office - called on the Iraqi government and all international organizations to save civilians, asserting that military actions do not solve conflicts in Iraq, rather, they increase them.

The center also called on the Ministry of Defense to verify all reports provided by the Iraqi National Guards to the Coalition Forces in Talafar.

The center also demanded allowing humanitarian organizations and rescue teams into Talafar to provide aid for civilians, especially children and elders forced to evacuate their houses due to the random bombing.
