Alternative Fuel Stocks Skyrocketing
NEW YORK — Alternative energy has long been dismissed as too expensive to be practical, but with oil hovering around $65 a barrel, solar energy and fuel cells are starting to look positively affordable. As a result, alternative fuel companies' stock has soared this summer alongside oil prices.

While equipping your house with solar panels will almost certainly pay off in time, alternative energy stocks are riskier. Many are money-losing companies. All have uncertain futures.

"This is an emerging growth space that's been emerging for a long time," said Jack Robinson, president of Winslow Management Co., a 21-year-old investment firm focused on green investing. "There are companies that are much riskier than others."

Why did the stock double? "Because energy is so hot and there aren't that many players you can invest in," Little said. "There aren't many places to invest in solar energy, and we've done pretty well."

1. Now is the Time to Watch Who Gets What
Oil giants will get their hand in the pot, but how and when is the question? What dynamic will we see unravel in Wall Street.

2. I wonder how long it will take
for them to start really getting products to market, this huge infusion of capital will help alot with that.

3. It's Gonna Have to Sonner Rather Than Later
New Orleans being taken by a monster 5 Hurricane, fed by very high Gulf water temps, has woken a lot of people to our Global Warming propblem.

I believe this will unite the World. Throughout the history of mankind, we have managed to work together through struggles. I believe this is why Socialism scares the shit out of the elites. They know how effective and productive it really is. The problem for them is, they can no longer rule.

4. Yes, and wouldn't it be even more helpful if the Federal government...
... would redirect the recent handouts for the oil companies over to alternative energy projects? (And not just fuel cells.)

5. I'm considering solar panels for my roof...
Does anyone here know what are the most reputable companies/product names? That company would make a good investment.
