Musharraf-U.S. can't just pack up and leave Iraq

NEW YORK, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The world should stop dwelling on the consequences of the U.S. war in Iraq and move on to resolving problems like Kashmir and the Palestinian conflict, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said on Friday.

"It has happened, so why talk about it. It is done and finished. Let's forget it. We need to figure out what needs to be done now," Musharraf told students at Columbia University in New York, where is he attending a U.N. summit.

Responding to a student's question about Iraq, he said the 2003 invasion had made the world more complicated but added that for U.S. forces to now leave was "easier said than done".

"You just can't pack up and go. You need to have a strategy of how to pack up and go," he said. "It will take time. But I think the Palestinian dispute and the Kashmir dispute are ripe for solution today."

4. because if we just pull all of our troops out, without some type of
exit stratagy the nut cases will think it's because of them. like the fool in palastine that says that isreal pulled out because of the terrorist acts in isreal.

and to a certain extent it's true, but if we just drop everything and pull out they will figure that it will work every where. I know it's not popular but it's my gut feeling. remember I didn't get us in this mess, your president did.

love ya.

the sand trap on purpose. You are not answering how does our staying help? It does not our presence inflames the situation. The Un and NATO and EVERYONE else can and will come in AFTER WE LEAVE. They do not and will not ally with the US in this criminal War of Aggression.

10. pure nonsense
Our invasion of their country was a criminal act, nothing more.
We need to admit that; We need to pull out immediately.
It goes something like this:
1. As we pull out, Arab nations move in
to police the country and commence with the healing.
2. The UN helps, the EU helps.
3. Once we are totally out, we help pay
for the mess we made.
4. NO US companies are involved in reconstruction.

Kucinich already has the plan:
have him lead the process.

Your comment: "like the fool in palastine that says that isreal pulled out because of the terrorist acts in isreal. and to a certain extent it's true" is definitely....... unique.

3. Um, yes you can
Here's how it works.

1. The president signs an order as commander-in-chief of the armed forces calling for all troops to leave Iraq (that's how our Constitution works, Mushy).

2. The troops leave Iraq.
