FTC launches probe of manipulation in gasoline pricing

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Federal Trade Commission has begun a probe looking for evidence of anticompetitive behavior in gasoline and diesel pricing in the U.S., John Seesel, associate general counsel for the commission told a Senate panel Wednesday. Seesel said a provision in the recently passed energy bill required the commission to carry out the investigation and present the results to Congress. The commission also continues to monitor on a daily basis price fluctuations in roughly 360 retail markets in the U.S. looking for "unusual" price fluctuations that could indicate manipulation, Seesel told the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

Letws spend millions on a commission to find it out. How about 78 million for a blow job again! They have already planted the seed that they are going to jack them up again because of another hurricane that hasn't even gotten here yet. I am all for making Hummer drivers eat shit but there is no doubt they gouged the shit out of us big time. Why are gas prices so high when we have an oil man in the charge?

Of course all the "price fluctuations" will be easily explained for us laymen, as completely understandable and unavoidable. Mmmm hmmmm.

Like any sane person really believes the republicans will actually do a crediable investigation.
