Bush is making press statements on the damage, talking about the federal first response to Rita, even giving damage assessments.

And why, exactly, did he not do that with Katrina? How many people died because it took him two hurricanes to learn his job?

There is no hell deep enough for that man or ANY of his supporters.

The NOLA PD lost over 550 vehicles to Katrina - but were supposed to cope? The NOLA PD personnel were 80% homeless due to Katrina - but were supposed to cope? The NOLA PD lost all communications, half their substations and 25% of their personnel - but were supposed to cope?

The GOP policy of "blame the victims" is a policy of crimes against humanity.

I do not wish to offend anyone by my following comment, but with the levee breaking in the 9th ward area of New Orleans, Bushit cannot make much inroads in saying he is on top of the Hurricane Rita situation. The flooding again of the 9th ward area will only remind people throughout this country how Bushit and his un qualified people were so un-prepared for Katrina. Plus, Hurrican Rita came ashore in La. and not Texas. Again a reminder. A reporter should raise the question if the Bushiveks get too self congraulatory on how they were ready for Rita by asking. Should not Bush, FEMA, Homeland Security been on top of situation before, during and after Hurricane Katrina as Hurricane Rita?

Let him tell the thousands stranded on evacuation routes without gas.

One was an enormous catastrophe, the other a large destructive storm. It seems to me that the prep was a little better and more coordinated but shouldn't it have been? And face it, the Houston evacuation was not well planned. So now they can continue picking up the bodies again in NOLA.
