CIA Getting Intel Tips From Congress

WASHINGTON - The CIA is gleaning intelligence from an unusual source: Congress. House Intelligence Chairman Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., said the agency has become more willing to consider sensitive information that comes from his oversight committee — a shift he's seen in recent months under CIA Director Porter Goss.

Without being specific about who is giving his panel the information, Hoekstra said the intelligence tips have touched on several current issues, including terrorism, al-Qaida, Iraq and Iran. Hoekstra said he has personally met with individuals and organizations in different places around the world.

"Obviously, I can't do analysis," he said. "I can't tell whether these sources are any good or not, but I do know that they are unconventional sources of information."

...

"This is not where we normally get information," Hoekstra said. "But Porter is more than willing — and encouraging — to take a serious look at these sources to see what value they might have."

3. I truly don't know what to make of this...
... because of the personalities involved. Congresspeople do a fair amount of foreign travel. (And, I suspect that the CIA, in prior years, has debriefed any number of people in Congress after foreign trips.)
If they collect information overseas and hand it over to the CIA later, there's nothing wrong with that.

On the face of it.

With the `pugs in control of virtually everything, it seems like a wonderful new way to funnel bogus information into the agency where it can then be "stovepiped" right into the White House. That's what the Office of Special Plans was for--that was the point in the intelligence system where bogus information could be injected into a system designed to avoid bogus information.

Don't like the sound of this at all.

6. This would raise eyebrows even if a relatively trustworthy administration
proposed it.

But, given the level of Bushevik lies and corruption lies somewhere between Augusto Pinochet and Adolf Hitler, this is a major RED FLAG!

But then, it's been nothing but red flags since Old America died in late 2000.
