DeLay Says He'll Remain Active in House (and majority leader again soon)
LAT: DeLay Says He'll Remain Active in House

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Tom DeLay pledged on Sunday to take an active role in the Republican leadership despite being forced out as majority leader because of criminal conspiracy charges in Texas.

DeLay, who last week stepped aside temporarily from the No. 2 job in the House, said he will continue his close partnership with House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill. DeLay said the GOP leadership wants to act aggressively in the next eight weeks to push an agenda of lowering gas prices, cutting taxes and enforcing immigration laws.

"I get to continue my partnership with the speaker," DeLay said, describing how he envisions his role. "The speaker and I have led the House for eight years. It's because we get along together, we think the same. We're simpatico," DeLay told "Fox News Sunday."

But he added, "I wouldn't call it running the show. I would call it working together to get our agenda done."...

***

"This is a frivolous indictment," DeLay said Sunday. "I think it will be over and over very soon. I will go back to be majority leader."

Maybe, "I did it and I am so sorry. I resign and repudiate forever the horrid sins against humanity I've commited?" Yeah, right!

10. the Fatty Arbuckle of US politics
Fatty Arbuckle was an entertainer of sorts back in olden days (when mice were mice and men were men, unlike today!) who at a party where a young girl was raped ....she died and arbuckle was charged...he pleaded innocent but (unlike oj, who wouldn't hurt a fly) Fatty seemed like a perve, a real hollywood central casting version of someone who do exactly what the charge said....despite his 'innocence' Fatty was ruined and later directed movies under the name 'william b goodrich' (from will b good)...unlike Fatty Arbuckle (when he was cleared of the rape charge, the jury and judge wrote an apology to him) tom delay is a punk, but what hurt the honourable Fatty Arbuckle (his obesity versus the slight young victim doomed him instantly; in fact the news actually talked about this effect on jury/public perception and the injustice of it all!) might also work against the monstrous traitor 'pig' delay ..delay SMELLS BAD and any info tried in his defense just supports the stench of this fixer creep fixing the court and news reports etc
(the idea of using Fatty Arbuckle to smear a bastard like delay when Arbuckle was actually a victim of people exactly like tom delay, and those in the know would see that the 'smear' was actually an honour....- yes, i outta get out more ...lol)

12. The Republicans are happy to be rid of him
and probably helped do this - including Roy Blunt - now, get rid of Blunt. I think the Country is tired of not having any representation at all in the House - only Tom Delay. Don't think he will be back.

22. Heard Howard Kurtz today say what a big mistake that was for
DeLay to say, on national TV, that he was basicaly disregarding the house rules that demand that he step away from his position as leader. He mentioned that several Pubs have said they don't even want DeLay back, even if he's not found guilty. Seems he's making the other Pubs look BAD!

25. Agreed! He'd better start working on his defense
if he wants to stay in the House.

Tom has a lot of homework ahead of him and the case against him, although it's only one criminal count, looks pretty convincing from what the jurors have said.

27. "Bugs" Moran, kindred spirit, died at Leavenworth.
Just so you know, Tom. He, too, was a "buggy" gangster.

"He eventually moved to Ohio where he was arrested in July, 1946, for robbing a bank messenger of a paltry $10,000, an amount that would have been loose change for him in his prohibition days. He was convicted and sentenced to ten years. After his release, he was again arrested for an earlier bank raid and sent down for another ten stretch at Leavenworth where he eventually died of cancer in 1957. George 'Bugs' Moran was given a paupers burial in a wooden casket in a potters field just outside the prison."
