FEMA defends suspension of Phoenix team

<snip> The Federal Emergency Management Agency had called up the Phoenix team in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

However, FEMA sent the 28-person Phoenix team home early last week after they were spotted with a loaded shotgun.

The Phoenix team deployed with four armed police officers who had been deputized as U-S marshals. <snip>

3. I bet if they had hired Blackwater or some other mercenary

outfit, they would not have been turfed. Their problem was not the loaded shotgun, it was that they didn't hire a PRIVATE corporation on the list.
