Tehran, Oct 11, IRNA-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that Iraq's unrest is mainly due to presence of foreign troops and occupiers and that continued occupation will cause division between Iraq and neighboring states.
In a meeting with Iraqi prime minister's special envoy and Minister of Transport Salam Oudeh al-Maliki, President Ahmadinejad said that contrary to conspiracy of the external forces, the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to do its best to help resolve differences between Iraq and its neighboring states.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran supports establishment of a democratic government in Iraq and is looking for ending the current dilemma and going ahead with reconstruction of the country," President Ahmadinejad said.
Ahmadinejad voiced the concern of the Iranian nation and government about current situation in Iraq and said Iran stands by the Iraqi people and would do its best to alleviate their sufferings.
